| Quote ="TonyGee"Widnes and Crusaders fans come across as absolute morons on this Forum, They should probably ban us both from the VT unless we can grow up.
For what its worth yesterday was a brilliant day to be a Viking. I said it before i went that i was really nervous about this match, Barrow are a good team if lacking in direction at times and this was always going to be a tough one. And right from the opening salvo you knew it was going to be a bruiser with both teams putting in some big shots ( both legal and not ). The two yellow cards helped calm things down and on the whole the ref managed a fiery encounter well.
Part of me thought we had it won at Half time and part of me Still was not convinced until Varkulis went over in the last few minutes. The game breaker was probably Barrows failure to deal with the kick off after their first second half try. When Widnes scored from the resulting set of six you could see the belief in our players grow.
Was Great to see such a good turnout from both clubs fans, plenty of banter in the bars before the game and in the ground without any trouble from what i could see. And i dont think i have encountered such a gracious set of fans in defeat as Barrow, Leaving the stadium and heading back to the front the number of barrow fans congratulating us was staggering. They helped build the atmosphere before, During and after the game. I wish the club much future success ( so long as it dosent come at our expense ).
Great to see a good number of RL kits on display in blackpoool over the weekend, i went on Friday and saw Wigan, Dewsbury, Sheffield, Leeds, Hull KR, Leigh, St Helens, Featherstone, Keighly and others i cant recall right now. All in all it was a good weekend, How about we all grow up and not start petty bickering over something 99% of the users of this forum couldnt give a damn about and just enjoy the fact that This was a good weekend for RL.'"
Brilliant post. Absolutely agree 100% with every word.

I also couldn't agree more. Fingerposts probably did more to derail this thread than any Crusaders fan. It's frustrating that as a Widnes fan you almost don't have an opinion on these boards and that's down to the morons.
I would also like to say that Barrow fans all seemed in good spirits after the game which was great to see. All in all a cracking day out and a great result!

To be honest, I watched the game back when I got home last night and after watching Boots N All, it must have been said about 500 times! WE KNOW! YOU'VE TOLD US!!
Without piping on, from a selfish point of view, what it also does is takes an opportunity to apply away from Barrow, who in my opinion have a strong case in a couple fo years if they continue going like they have done.

Man of the match in the Semi final and Widnes' player of the month for June.
Thack is going extremely well for us at the moment. Not sure about his red hair though!

Thacks is going great, the lad has huge potential and i think were starting to see a lot of it unleashed. His defence has improved hugely under Cullen.

For Christs sake why do we need all this crap
Just do what we should and swap the bottom for the top

| the game on sunday only confirmed two things for me, john duffy is an absolutely superb forward, and in webbo and thacks we have our best half back partnership for many a year....................just a real shame that craig hall has gone back to hull, he is a real star of the future and i would love him to come back to widnes.
