Because we're waiting for the planning permission to go in - or we were - anyway. The sale of WR is vital to the funding of Glasshoughton.
How do you know we didn't tell the RFL? Or are you now going off on one of your hypothesising posts with no substance at all, in order to try and score points.

| this has been a very good thread barring a couple of posters who are clearly jealous
i guess thats just the way things work that people take out their frustrations on other clubs for their own club's ineptitude
any club which manages to get a new ground is not only good for the club, its also good for the game

| Until it's proven otherwise all this is hearsay and conjecture. I won't believe anything regarding Newmarket or GH until the FACTS are in the public domain and the stadium is being built. All this squabbling about what are effectively 'virtual' stadia is tedious and, to be honest, childish. I'm sick of reading about Wakey fans wanting Cas to fail and vice versa.
FWIW I want BOTH to succeed, but if EITHER should fail I would still hope for the other one to succed.
Both sets of fans should be wary of false dawns - we've both seen enough of them!

You must of known then about the chemical license all other problems but decided not to mention that in your application. Considering that and the warning letter from the RFL surly it's only fair on other clubs that you are held accountable by the franchise committee. What is the problem with that?'"
I'm sure both Cas and Wakey will be 'held to account' by the franchise committee. On stadiums, they've an independent company looking at plans and will only count those that, in the opinion of that independent company, will be ready for 2012. They'll also look at financial history too.

As far as I am aware the only thing they are guilty of is asking why have'nt you sold your ground yet and other questions relevant to the sale of it, and neither you, fully or anybody else from Cas for that matter have come up with a plausable explanation as to the reason why, perhaps if you did then they would not be able to ask these terrible trolling question, which when you think of it only seem to be trolling when they are a source of irritation to you when you cannot answer the questions put to you in relation to the sale of WR. Perhaps if you did not try and portray yourselves' as the in the know crowd these alleged trolls would be redundant hth.

We seem to be forgetting that the Council [iconveniently[/i held off announcing that the Thornes Park development wouldn't go ahead until after the 2008 licenses had been announced. Are you telling me that your club didn't know anything about that in advance? How convenient!
I won't mention your entry to Super League in 1999...
I hope Cas' perseverence pays off. A global recession is a harsh environment in which to try and progress a project like this, since construction is generally one of the hardest hit sectors and one of the slowest to emerge from the downturn.
I'm quite proud of the club and the way they've simply got on with it and overcome a number of obstacles that have landed in the way. Whilst the stadium may not be built as quickly as was previously envisioned, it's becoming more and more of a reality all the time now that full planning has been applied for. I've no reason to doubt the funds are there either if the club say they are - it's not my business, nor anyone elses outside of the project for that matter, anyway.
I'm also pleased that the club are trying to stand on their own two feet and haven't simply taken a begging bowl and moved from proposal to proposal, trying to get someone else to simply provide a stadium on a plate.
As for the designs, they look fantastic - a real credit to the club and the architects.

The stadium is a construction project. The sale of Wheldon Road is reliant on a construction project. The Hicksons chemical site situation also has links to a construction project. How much clearer would you like it to be spelled out?

Nobody is telling you anything, you are just assuming (unwisely tbh)that is what happened, imo a knee jerk reaction born out of frustration at Dee Hall's insistance on some answers regarding the sale of WR, and is irrellevent anyway as the thread is about Castlefords stadium plans

And so you should be proud of them, at the same time do not be too critical of clubs like FC, Wigan, Catalans, Bradford, Crusaders, who find it more convenient or have no choice other than to play in rented stadiums.'"

Yes I have read it, a couple of times in fact and I am still confused. The problem I have here is that in one instance you are making excuses as to why its not built siting the construction industry as being hard hit, presumably by that you mean you cannot sell the land for which you desperately need the money from to finance your new ground, and then in another post you state that according to the club the finances ARE in place because the club say they are and good old you believe them, you need to make up your mind lad just what you believe because you cannot have it both ways

Lets not turn this into a Wakey bashing thing, countless other threads on here provide for that. So what's the problem with having to demonstrate to the RFL franchise committee that you have the funds? If you have it you will pass the test with flying colours. What most Cas fans are saying on here is "trust us we have the money". I could imagine your reaction if another team said such a thing. In reality the project has hardly moved in the 3 years from 2008 except for another phase of paper work! The reality it seems is different to the perception your club is trying to give off.

Exactly what do I need to make my mind up about? Everyone knows about the recession, it's kind of hard to miss it really if you pay any attention to what's going on in the world. A bit of logical thinking is all it takes to realise that's probably why there have been delays.
I don't work for the club, nor am I a shareholder, nor am I involved with the project. Therefore as I indicated previously, the financial details are none of my business. At the launch of the designs last August I asked one of the architects as a matter of on-going concern if the funding was in place and he said it was.
I'm pretty confident the club can happily get on with this in the background whilst the fans go about their day-to-day lives. Indeed the biggest level of concern regarding our stadium plans, seems to emenate from some bitter, trolling Wakefield fans on this site; who from their perspective, quite frankly have much more important things to worry about.

So what you are saying then in reality is that the ground has not been sold because there is recession on and nobody can afford to buy your land at the price you want for it, and because of that its delaying you selling it as your budget for the new stadium will not account for the inevitable shortfall, thats okay its understandable people accept your bad luck in the collapse of the housing market and the logical thinking there is thats what is causing the delay according to you, but also according to you the finances are in place because you believe what Mr Wright has told you, can you see the problem here, if you are reliant on the sale of WR to BB homes how can all the finances be in place

Its good your club can go about its business quietly making every effort to get the club a new ground, and that most of the fans can get on with their everyday life, and those that cannot spend their time telling anybody that will listen about how everythings in place and then when people question their reasoning and how it does not add up they call them trolls, a bit like your doing really, the good thing about it is that it you tend to forget about our problems when helping you sort yours out
