As a full team....this is Warringtons first game together no?? Brisbane aint much more under cooked than Warrington so I say well done to Wire for a great display.

Wire looked dangerous from anywhere on the pitch, yes Brisbane had a few missing, but so did Warrington. I feel like Tony Smith really targeted this, obviously because he wanted to win, but also because I don't feel like he agrees with the way Bennett has gone about the England job.

I might add that Warrington should be thankful to Catalans for teaching Warrington a rugby league lesson last Saturday night. Anthony Smith had to look at the mistakes Warrington made against the quality team that is Catalans, and so the boys improved over their performance in Perpignan.

After the drubbing that English clubs experienced in the WCS last year, few NRL clubs thought that it was worth the effort to fly to the UK.

Wayne Bennett was an exception for two reasons. First he is an avid proponent of international competition. Second, it gave him the chance to see the English players in action again, for his England coach responsibilities. That is why, though Brisbane players fly back to Australia tomorrow, Wayne Bennett is staying over an extra day to watch Wigan play.

Thankfully the biggest rugby club in the world was a bit more outward looking...Perhaps there is a link?

The link being their head coach is England coach, when he moves on from either role will they be as outward looking.

On the Broncos forum all the same excuses are coming out. Always offside, never played it correctly so got a roll on, dodgy ref and Cooper should have been sent off for punching. Breaks my heart!

I've not seen it back on telly yet. But he was taking us back a massive ten all night, if we were offside I'd say it was equal in both sides and he did his best to not penalise them at the ptb. He pinged us twice for not square when they had similar and worse during the game and then a soft holding down, when again they were doing worse unpunished.

Aussie's making excuses when they lose? Like death and taxes, it's always going to happen.

That was the best game of the season by a mile, hopefully the series will go back to 3 games next year.

If the British ref favoured the British team (he didn't) it would make a refreshing change. Far too often our refs bend over for Aussie teams, probably in the hope they will be selected to officiate tests down under and have a nice little paid holiday...

How many of those times did they come over as Champions? Getting the champion team over we've managed for the actual WCC title match. How many years did it take for this extended format before the NRL teams said no to the games that had no title on the line?

Of the two times the WCC has included teams other than the champions and Wayne Bennett hasnt been coach of England, The biggest club in RL has participated.

I didn't say NRL champions, I said champions and 3 of those times they were. 1 time was a tournament that featured all SL and NRL teams that was such a flop that we didn't even have a WCC game for another 3 years.

Will Brisbane still come over as non champions when Bennett isn't in charge or will they take the same stance most NRL clubs did this year? Even if they keep coming it'll be a bit boring for it to just be Brisbane every year.
