that was disgusting from wood, first he slams a headbutt into him, then throws punches on a man on the ground then gouges him!
hock should have walked for slapping the guy twice too!
he shouldn't be playing again this season!
both teams are absolutely filthy! i don't mind a bit of biff but this is just thuggery of the highest order!

Ended up turning it off it turned into a farce of a game ..how each team didn't have at least 5 off is beyond me.. Hock is still a bellend of the highest order but yet seems immune to be punished absolutely awful advert for championship rugby league

God knows how the VR denied the first penalty try. And with the one that was given surely the defender should've been sinbinned for using his knees.

When rugby league did break out, their was some good stuff played, sadly though both the Leigh & Featherstone players were more interested with indulging in thuggery. Paul Wood if he his found guilty for gouging he should IMO get a Sine Die ban. Andy Hay if I heard it correctly though said that Paul Wood was gouged first and then retaliated. If this is so the Leigh player involved should get the same punishment.

I don't condone Wood's behaviour but I've watched the incident 2 or 3 times and I see Wood's clenched fist being rubbed in to Beswick's face. I can't see any evidence that fingers were poked in eyes i.e. gouging. Beswick was no angel in that incident and looked to have lashed oout first on the ground.

I would suggest you look again. Headbut AND what appeared to be gouging.

i thought i saw wood, headbutt, then punch, then gouge..or at least scrape his fingers around beswick's face, totally unacceptable.

Gouging? Not sure. Looked more like he had hold of his nose to me! Leigh are horrible though. It used to be the fans, now it's the team

I can agree with comments that are sensible, however if you can't see it from both sides then nothing is worth discussing. Goodnight. Oh and Gareth Moore is a sneaky little shyster and I think it was Verlinden who needs some acting classes.

I think more super league fans would have gone to this if it wasn't magic next week. Why put them a week apart.

How does 15000 compare to a normal weekend for championship attendances?

Having had a very quick look I would say attendances are normally between 8 and 12k depending on who is at home.

Both Wood and Beswick have marks/scratches below their eyes. Woods claims he lost it and retaliated to being gouged. The mark below his eye was clearly visible in a shot of him sat in dougout durin the second half.

Watching the replay wood looks to have his nose more than his eye, but its quite hard to tell, he did try to butt him though, that is plain to see.

terrible game spoilt by poor reffing. I think had Hock been binned for the slap it may have calmed things down a bit

Allowing Hock to stay on the field after a full-blooded strike to the face of another player - open-handed or not - was the beginning of the end for that game in terms of discipline; it became a farce.

Poor advert for the sport really and probably closed a weekend of good rugby on a sour note. Shame.

The best game of the weekend for entertainment value was the Cumbrian derby match.

Went for the full day on Saturday really enjoyed it. Shame that a few of clubs fans didn't back it. Most of the fans decided it was better to wander around the pubs and just watch one game. Then watching most of the action.

London team of the weekend without question. Bradford fans created a great atmosphere on Saturday, leythers made plenty of noise Sunday
