If Tomkins was anywhere near the quality of Escare, Milford or Russell, the England team would be in a much safer position defensively for the tests to come, and, come to think of it, offensively as well.

This happened.

This doesn't deserve a 'bite' but I can't think of Tomkins missing one tackle this tournament.

Josh Mantellato unlucky not to get a mention. Has been outstanding for the Italians. As far as I'm aware he's only made 1 NRL appearance.

He's also 26 or 27 years old.
He has had a remarkable career so far.
He never played elite level juniors. He was a Wyong Roos junior who became top point scorer in the Newcastle comp for 3 years in a row - then he paid his own way to play for Italy and got to train with some NRL firstgraders and improved enough to get a run in the Knights part timers, where he went on to be top pointscorer in the NSW cup for 2 years in a row, signed a contract for the knights full time squad, got one game of firstgrade this year where he scored a try and kicked 3 from 3, all from the sidelines.
In short, he was a park footballer who got a run for Italy, trained hard, improved his game, and finally cracked firstgrade as a 26 or 27 year old.

What no Craig Priestly the American scrum half? not even on the poll table in terms of a completely out of the blue unexpected and not expected talent he has to be on that table

Escare is a throwback to the days of Puig Aubert pity there arent any more then France would be real threat .

Not a young talent given that he's 26, but a new one to most people's eyes is the USA scrum-half Craig Priestly.

Been very impressed with him.

Went for Milford and Russell.

At this point it is Matthew Russell no 1 (27 votes), Anthony Milford No 2 (23 votes), and George Burgess No. 3 (20 votes), with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck a distant 4th (10 votes).

I was impressed by Chris Taripo. Or is 21 too old to be classed as a Youngster? He scored some cracking tries!

Back on subject Milford and Hurrell are my votes, but Dylan Napa would have got one. Danny Addy has been outstanding for Scotland.

I went for Milford and Sheck, but could have easily picked a few others on there. There has been some fabulous talent on show in this tournament.

It's now Anthony Milford slightly in front of Matthew Russell, with George Burgess further back on third place. Then there is a big gap to Konrad Hurrell, narrowly ahead of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, with Morgan Escare in 6th place, clearly in front of Joseph Leilua. The rest are insignificant.

Next weekend's games could see some changes in the ratings. Hurrell however, won't have another chance to impress.

Dylan Napa would have got a vote from me aswell, looks a top prospect. Some real talent in the list, hard to believe some of them are as young as they are.

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has deserved my vote after his Man of the Match performance for New Zealand today.

I am surprised that not more people have voted for him.

After today's performance, surely Marika Koroibete deserves some votes!

He was immense - that run down the touchline when he visibly turned on turbo was astonishing

Yet it is exciting to think that Koroibete's best days are still ahead of him.

Joey Leilua has been dominating his opponents up till today, but he more than met his match against Waqa and Koroibete.
Milford didn't look as impressive against a well structured defence either.
Koroibete has probably been taking tips from Uate I think. Uate has been playing like an extra forward in his own half for a few years - as one of his trainers told me a few years ago speed = power, and he loves to use his power. Koroibete has not been very impressive so far this tournament, but today he played like Uate, and not just as a speedy winger and a good finisher, but as a metre eater doing hit ups.

It is interesting that Uate as been coaching Koroibete. The Fiji team must be developing its individual player components just by being together on tour. We need to have more internationals involving Fiji. That would be a lure for some undiscovered talents in country, and the NRL recruitment officers would have a great time.

If Super League clubs want to find new three quarter line talent that is currently in short supply in England, they could do no better than to send their recruitment officers to Fiji, accompanied by Andrew Johns and Brad Fittler.

Yesterday Fiji was playing three specialist wingers in its three quarter line with Sisa Waqa in the centres. They also played another young winger Radradra in the forwards!

I would think that if there was a 4x 100 metres sprint relay between all the World Cup teams Fiji would win it comfortably.
