I would like to see a Mon/Tuesday game.

Fri/Sat/Sun could burn it out.

The other problem though is that the standard of SL has dropped a bit recently and adding more teams could drop it further.

The only issue with a Monday/Tuesday game (aside from the inconvenience to supporters) a situation could potentially arise with a side playing again on the following Friday. 3-4 days rest is not sufficient, especially when the opposition may have had 7.

There was a facial hair craze a few years back that fell out of favour because of the infamous ‘velcro effect’.

I think Super League is still building. At the moment we only have a 14 team comp in Super League (Sky) and the Challenge cup (BBC). Hopefully if we can expand the number of Full time professional teams in the UK and France then produce enough quality players to play in them. We will hopefully have enough for more games and more competitions.

The TV Coverage balance is about right for me. It'd kill the crowds if they did more. They should show all the games Live from France though. I know Sky show the games from France for an hour during it's live game repeat shows but they are never at a decent hour.

In Oz are the games shown live? are are they recorded with adverts stuck in between?

With all the digital TV channels we have now, I think it's scandalous that RL is not shown on Freeview. Every game is recorded anyway, so why not show a couple of games midweek? It would be a damn sight better than the soaps, so-called reality TV and endless repeats of films and TV shows we have all seen at least half a dozen times!

I'd even suggest giving it completely free to FIVE for 12 months, just to see what happens.

Totally agree with you all . I support Saints , and live down in Devon . Would love to see more games on Sky . Especially the Saints ones

I can tape them I have Sky+ but would rather watch it on the Saturday Night (maybe after the live Sky game) rather than a long delay to Sunday Morning.

ps It's also annoying that Sky give the score away from France during the live match!

if theres another expansion to 16 teams then 3 games a week would be suitable then, on fri/sat/sun. The RFL should definetly look at giving a 3rd game to free to air tv game as i cant see the next sky offer being of that big an increase.

The current deal with Sky lasts until the end of 2011 and includes EXCLUSIVE coverage of all SL and National Co-op league games, including play-offs and grand-finals (as well as some internationals).

The RFL should look to have a game a week on terrestrial TV but the problem is that no terrestrial station would be interested.

which I really don't understand given the ratings for CC games and Sky games. Surely some of these channels are getting very few viewers at certain times (Sunday early evenigns for example) and a sport programme would be a damn sight better than what they are showing now.

re the query of NRL games, majority of them are live. They cut to adverts as scrums are being packed, kicks are being taken etc. Annoying as heck! I rarely watch games of FTA because of the adverts and wait for the replay on Fox sports (Games shown live on Ch9 are shown a few hours later on delay on Fox sports)

Having said that the Oz TV deal is worth about as much a year as the SL one is for the full five years!

Ratings may be higher, but the costs of broadcasting live sport are far more than some American junk or a filler quiz show. If you can't make the money back in advertising, it's not worth it.

What you've got to remember is that NRL is your No. 1Sport, has Football is ours by a long way. The SKY deal for football, one year of that deal is probably worth 10 years of your NRL deal. Super League is a far and distant 2nd/3rd in the sports pecking order for SKY>
