3rd place will surely come down to points difference and with Salford having London and Batley left I can see them racking up enough points to finish there which would leave Huddersfield and Hull KR for the MPG.

I hear big changes at Huddersfield next season what ever league they are playing in.

Without being disrespectful, I would expect Salford to win their last two game against the Championship clubs, leaving them on eight points.

Again, H.K.R. should get past Fev, which would give them eight also, but if they then beat Huddersfield they would have ten points & be clear of the M.P.G.

The interesting one for me is Huddersfield v Leeds next week (Congratulations to Leeds b.t.w. for achieving S.L. survival)

If Leeds were to now put the cue on the rack, Huddersfield may just sneak a win & with this bit of a boost could go to H.K.R. & turn them over, giving them ten points.

It all maybe a bit clearer this time next week, but as an outsider (for once), it's fascinating.

Because some of the best players in the Leigh team were released by Salford (Hansen, Paterson and Maitua).

They can rack as many points as they like, they can still only get 8 points, both us and Hudds can get 10, so if either of us win our last two its SL.

Huddersfield and Hull KR will have a much better chance at returning to SL if relegated. Salford however I fear for.

That depends on whether Leeds have there buckets and spades out, a fully focused Leeds side will be too good for Hudds.

Wouldn't lose any sleep if Huddersfield went down - certainly wouldn't miss their crowds. SL should go down to 10 teams for a bit anyways, imo

Salfords crowds have been disappointing. Whereas Leigh's fans seem hungry. If it's salford to go down then it's not a bad swap. no disrespect to the poor loyal salford fans but that's the way it currently is.

A SL of 10 great idea yes that'll certainly keep it fresh it's bad enough with 12 IMO

I have to agree. I understand we need to share the money as best we can, but at some point the reduction in teams makes the league pretty pointless.

A 10 team league would be far too repetitive.

I could live with a 10 team league if there were going to be fewer games and so increase the competitiveness. But RL clubs with current crowds can't survive, let alone thrive, on 9 games a year so I'm against it.

In fact I'd be tempted to go the other way and go with a 20 team league but with no P&R.

For the current format 12 is about right. Less and clubs will struggle to make money even more than they do now. more and the teams coming up to play in the middle eights won't be good enough to compete.

Personally I would be looking to go to a 14 than league with Leigh and probably Bradford joining the top table. Then in a years time have a look and see if anyone needs to be replaced or if any other championship teams could add something to the top flight. No P&R and a top 8 playoff format the same as the Nrl.

Unless it's Huddersfield winning by less than 4 points. Then it's the loser who stays up and the winner has to play the MPG
