Indeed they were. The trouble came when said promotions weren't achieved on equal terms (quota/salary cap exemptions, dodgy visas etc) and then gave a false idea of their progress.

So in conclusion, yes, they would.

Not to mention the RFL declaring them to be financially sound (in their licencing decision) when CCJs were already being recorded against them.

I disagree. If a team was set up, started up in Championship 1 and then played by the same rules as everyone else to get promoted through into the Championship. Then met all the criteria fo Super League and were given a franchise in SL what would the complaints be?

Toulouse are looking good for SL , they drew 850 fans for the NRC quarter against Fax , very similar to Celtic Crusaders at the similar stage

tbf anyone calling Crusaders for quota exemptions should have a look at halifax's team and sheffields team. I know not a lot about the lower standard down there but ive seen more than one overseas player in both of these sides. Last year fax & sheffield had about 6

Another new pro club obviously (or at least potentially) in the next 10 years i would like to see bramley, nottingham, blackpool, hemel and a scottsh team team join the pro ranks.

They'd be better picking one out and financing it properly for 3/4/5 years until established , instead we will end up with half baked clubs struggling along until they pack in , again

South wales scorpions seem to be doing aright. Even the most pessimistic man on these forums, your good self, must think more clubs is a good thing, i sometimes have my doubts about positive news like this but if we always think about failing we will never succeed.

Yes they do , they have picked up on the interest started by the Celtic fiasco and are taking things nice and easy , and hopefully will eventually become a strong sustainable Championship club

And yes more clubs are needed , but I want to see strong clubs that will definatly build and survive , if we spread ourselves too thinly then we will just make ourselves look silly

You took the words right out of my mouth! Slow and steady bottom up expansion is the way forward. The Summer Conference system will hopefully become a conveyor belt for Championship expansion. Handing out places to short lived teams, built on quick sand and propped up with union players looking to keep fit is a no go, but clubs with their own facilities, junior set ups, commercial contacts, local authority buy in etc must be encouraged.

Only hope that the central sky money available to CC and CC1 clubs can be grown and used to incorporate this growth. Can only imagine £100k conditional cash (e.g. employ CEO, Commercial Manager) being given to a Hemel or Notts will see them fly.

Exciting times ahead and i cant wait to see the look of the Championship in 2012/13 onwards!
