Considering the current state of the construction industry anything is possible and planning permission should be a walk through IF the desire is there.

The money is there, the land is there (just off Junction 30 of the m62), detailed designs are being drawn up as we speak, pp will be submited by nov.
Sir Rodney Walker & co (that includes you TRB) are doing our region proud & will be given the freedom of the city WHEN this comes off.
The council have no finacial role in this & will be even happier to rubber stamp this if Cas have come cap in hand, as some have heard, behind their fans backs. If this is the case Richard Wright will swing for this, mark my words

Our region can EASILY support 2 GOOD SL sides, to any doubters take a look at the youth leagues. They don't call it the golden triangle for nothing.
Why does it matter if we share a ground? With the facilities being right both clubs wouldnt have a problem selling themselves to sponosors & investors as well as fans & if both youth teams come to fruition in a few years you could be looking at Wakefield Vs Cas CC Finals & Grand Finals, not relegation scraps!
Wouldn't that be nice!!

| I don't see how the rfl can complain about the Jungle etc as a ground but then say that Rodney Parade 'ticks every box'. Surely by giving Rodney Parade full marks they are taking pressure off every other side trying to get a new ground.

A shared stadium would never work it would result in one of the clubs dying, we have to few rl teams as it is without trying to kill them off.

Thats your challenge if you want SL; market your club from outside your town to your fan base in Cas & elsewhere. Or stay at WR and live life in the championship.
Your poor CEO has given you that choice no-one else!

I wasnt necessarily talking about cas, and i dont want either club to die. Forgive me if i wait until i actually see j30 built before i believe in it being built, we've had all this 'wakey are going to get a ground, cas arent and your coming to share with us' with thornes park. And before for that matter.

This is SOOOOOOOO true.
I mean AC/Inter Milan are both failures
Bullbogs, West, Souths, Roosters are ALL failures playing at ANZ.
Hull City and FC are absolute failures at sharing not forgetting Wigan and Athletic.
You are So right it is a wonder we never cottoned on before.
Ground sharing and using a resource more than say 20 days a year is not using common sense or economicly sensible in any form whatsoever.
Well done..
I'm convinced

The council have already 'coughed up' as much as they are going to. The rest will be via other avenues including the developer - who is putting up front.
Cas' decision is entirely up to them - but as far as Stanley goes - the offer is open to ALL sporting bodies in the WMDC area!

The rfl wouldnt give franchises to two teams in the same stadium, one would lose their franchise, then be seen by there own fans as tennants people will stop coming, the club will die. Inter and ac, are playing a differant sport, in a differant country, where they dont have a franchise system, and whats more what like all the other examples qouted they are in the same place. Castleford and wakefield are differanrt places, you can put a stadium for two milan teams in milan, but you cant put a stadium in cas and wakey. So where do you put it? cas? then even if they dont lose thier franchise over sharing a ground they lose it as hardly any of there fans would want to travel to cas, the reverse is true if you put the stadium in wakey. If you put it in the middle somewhere out of both places then both teams are going to lose fans (if you want to know how how badly having an out of town ground can effect you ask the swinton fans) and with less fans and money they wouldnt survive for long in sl.
Cas have a location that will have better transport links and more entertainment than any other rl stadium, wakey seem to be quite happy with j30 as well. These stadiums could be the key to both clubs regularley challenging for honours, without them neither team will do.
Keighley havent got much money by the way, why dont you sell the ground and move in with bradford? makes alot more sense to me.

| From a purely logical sense,it would appear that the biggest issue for both proposed stadia would be finance.
I would imagine that both developments would be looking for lottery funding, which is decided by Sport England.
SportEngland arent going to award funding to two developments a few miles apart.
Unless one of the developments can proceed without Sport England funding,i can only see one stadium being built.
It also appears that Sport England prefer developments that reach out to the wider community,by way of facilities, including educational facilities and the development is aimed and there to benefit as many of the districts people as possible.

If it was the other way , and far more practical cos ODSLUM cost the Keighley council tax payers, then you may have a point
But then we are not going to have a sporting village (this story of odsal being redeveloped goes on and on and on and on and on etc..) in Keighley so it's a non starter.
Anyway Keighley sharing with Bradford City or Burnley to me would be a better option but seeing as the club, currently, has little or no aspiration to achieving SL status then Cougar Park will suffice sharing with Silsden town but it really does need a new main stand!
Another small problem is the RFL own the lease of the ground now , it does not belong to the club so selling would be hard
