what a load of rubbish, nut make sure you include your own failed club in your top league! what makes you think all those that walked away will come back, but you would quite happily get rid of two teams in one city that has 18000+ fans that attend both clubs

The one thing we should do is drop all fake SL era club names, and cull all fans who use them. Therefore if you're a Bradford Northern fan who has ever at any point referred to your club as the Bulls you should be banned for life from the game.

It's fine, let's merge Bradford and Fax, but let's play out of the better ground in Halifax (less capacity but at least you can watch the game properly). We could call them the Faxbulls for a season, or maybe even the BullyFax and then get bored of that and revert to just plain Halifax RLFC. Sorted.
What everyone forgets (albeit it doesn't really apply to Bradford) is that RL clubs are mostly run as limited companies, and most will have hefty directors loans sitting on their books. If a merger was to come along, I'd expect that said directors would want that loan repaying, unless they were to have a major position in the merged team. Said repayments would probably send most clubs into bankruptcy. |
