I remember when trent Robinson would argue the bias against catalans. It was well in effect today.

Good effort from Hull given they were down a few in the forwards. It looked like Catalans thought it would be easy and were put right off their stride when it wasn’t especially in the first half.

I’d want my own team to do the same as Hull and Catalans if the ref was penalising players in the ruck the way he was, but it doesn’t make for a good spectacle.

Dramatic finale. I didn’t like for the obvious reason - and it reminds me that Rovers chances (imo) if we end up in GP will be close to zero. It’d be huge psychological boost to win one, but I really hope we get through the season without a tie at 80 minutes, and then they revert to draws.

How amazing that you fail to mention the appalling off the ball shoulder charge to Connor's head by Williame that should have resulted in an instant red card but Kendall bottled it and gave a yellow.

That will result in at least a 3 match ban for him on Tuesday, fancy suggesting I'm wrong and we wait the RFL disciplinary to decide which one of us is correct?

I think it should have been red also. Ellis could also have had a red certainly a yellow at least for his hit on Bird. Bird was going down but still contact with head. The comms thought the new prop for Cats got a crusher tackle also? Not sure who the tackler was? So yes it will be interesting to see what if any charges are levelled come Monday? We are sweating on a couple of incidents from our Leigh game.Adds a bit more drama for Derby build up.

Ridiculous. I watched the game.It was entertaining overall. Lots of controversial moments I do think Catalans got the worst of a very poor ref but like I said they often seem to get the rub at home game's so hard to have much sympathy. Il leave you to it and hope your luck has been spent for this month.

Why he felt the need to catch it in the first place was beyond me, it was a poor short kick off. If it had gone ten metres, which it hadn't then a Cat's player would have got the ball. Even in golden point they let the ball go out from kick off, when you concede 30+ points in a game youve only yourselves to blame.

The disallowed try had no bearing on the game as Cats scored the next set anyway.

Also a team scores from a forward pass where have I seen that before ? Oh yeah almost every game every week.

The biggest forward pass of the game didn't even get picked up and it was one straight from dummy half by Catalans. It was on the play where Bird got penalised for running behind his man. The dummy half pass was about 2 metres forward, honestly couldn't believe that the ref and touches judges were so oblivious to it.

Exactly. In fact Catalans didnt even really need to touch the ball from the restart after their late try. There was about five seconds left, they just needed to make one tackle with their defensive line fully set.

Catalans blew it (twice) and Hull FC deserved the win over all.

having viewed the penalty kick a few times this morning clearly two hull players was offside at the kick in which case should of been pulled up for by the rule book

Shocker. Rules treat different situations differently. The RFL are corrupt!!

The rule is obstruction, you have to obstruct a defender for it to apply. This can be either stopping a defender getting to the ball carrier (hitting his inside shoulder as he slides across, or running straight into him), or stopping in the defensive line, which stops the defense sliding across (there was one of those on the Hudds/Cas game on Thurs, the commentators were pointing out the defender would never have got to the ball carrier - this is irrelevant, he's stopped the line sliding across, which affects defenders further out).

There is no 'running behind your own man' rule, or 'crossing', they're both fine as long as you don't obstruct a defender. The disallowed try should have been given IMO, poor read by the defender, he wasn't materially disadvantaged.

So crossing isn't a rule? Which is why both Hull and Catalans were penalised for it during that very match? Also, where you pass the ball in the defensive line is a key part of the obstruction rule which is why they often slow down the play to see that the ball was passed by the man before he runs behind the runner. Running behind your own guy is crossing and you cant do it. I think it should have been a try, but to simply dismiss rules to suit your own agenda is ridiculous.

No, crossing isn't a rule, obstruction is a rule. Fans incorrectly shout crossing all the time because they don't understand the rules. The same as when they shout 'shoulder charge' because they think its the same interpretation as union (no arms). No agenda, it doesn't matter to me whether Catalans or Hull FC won, just bothers me that there's such a difference between the fans understanding of the rules, and the actual rules.
