I remember some bulls fan, no doubt from Huddersfield, telling me while showering me in spit that his super club wouldn't be playing our little ty scam of a club for much longer, he was certainly right about that, I reckon he has long since jumped that particular shipwreck , karma works sometimes

However that doesn't hide the fact that I do have genuine sympathy for the decent Bradford fans and employee's of the club, and for those people I hope they come through it.
As for the karma stuff, we've been in more mire than most fans can imagine, so I have no qualms about feeling a tad smug at those who pulled us to pieces

Maybe Bradford could take over another team and sack all their players, sorry, merge with another team to ensure their survival? Wonder if any "scam of a club" have ever done that before?

I have never seen that at a Rugby game, let alone a Bradford one. I'm definitely not saying it didn't happen but it sounds pretty odd to me. Maybe it was the same lunatic who broke Daz and spat at Meast.

Don't get this about Bratfut fans. I've always found them a friendly bunch. Yeah, they had a lot of bandwagon jumpers, but which team doesn't?

At the end of the day, if Bratfut can go under, any club can. We should all be concerned. Right now, we at FC have someone in charge who appears to know how to run a club. What about when he goes? What if we struggle, crowds go down, income goes down, suddenly we've got financial issues? What if Leeds run out of cash with a half-finished South stand? What if Wigan Athletic get new owners who don't like rugby and make their lives hard?

Sporting clubs live a precarious existence. Bratfut is a big place with a big support, and RL will be a worse place without them

Agree with that. Which is why we have to get clubs to where they are in a less precarious position. Then they can't start to reap the benefits of long term planning and investment rather than lurching from 1 short term move to the next.

Unfortunately the sport is still recovering from when the clubs decided to sell all their assets.

Tbf I read that as him being one of those people that spits when they talk, rather than someone actually spitting at him.

I always found the Bulls fans to be a decent bunch. Certainly preferable to the arrogance of some of the Giants fans whenever they visited Belle Vue, which seemed to be entirely down to them being given an atmosphere-less bowl free of charge and liked to sneer at Wakefield because we haven't.

There is no doubt that the league benefits from a strong Bradford Bulls, and it's a good lesson to everyone that no one is immune from a fast sink to the bottom. They are potentially taking another drop downwards, but I bet they will be back in the top flight and successful within a decade.

It's always amusing when people encounter one fan of one club - and immediately transfer that person's behaviour to the entire supporter base; and use it to justify their attitude towards that club. And when I say amusing, I obviously mean it in a supercilious, condescending way - typical Wakey fan.

I find it difficult to do such a thing. You are my point, a wakefield fan who is well versed and obviously educated.

It's clearly Green's fault but you have to say that the fit and proper persons test employed by RFL might warrant a review.

Given this is the second time in four years that an owner signed off by them has appointed administrators within 2 seasons.

You do realise a club is a brand name and logo - therefore not a person or group of people?

The people that have made a balls of it this time are different to the ones who did it last time and different to the ones who did it the time before that.

I mean if you're happy going public as being angry at a brand name and not a succession of chancers - allowed to take hold of said branding - then fair enough.

Does that model include Odsal ? , just how much money does a new owner need to be willing to lose to get to this model ?

A fit and proper persons test is basically only to ensure the person hasn't been bankrupt or done for fraud etc.

It can't ever determine that persons intentions or accurately predict how that person will run the club. Especially if they've never run one before.

The governing body is then meant to,presumably,govern.

The security company went bust owing somewhere in the region of 4 million.

There were winding-up orders.

He returned to this country to make statement about non-payment to players and staff but chose not to mention the winding-up order due to be heard at court a few days later.

His club was allowed to sign a coach from Australia,and some players from the NRL,while ongoing winding-up orders were being taken to court.

'Special Measures' were never applied during this entire process.

Perhaps the RFL were just hoping that Bradford,like Featherstone,reached the Top 4 so the debts could be paid.

Wing and a prayer governance by a governing body which has learned nothing from the Crusaders in Wrexham,experience.

How do the RFL 'troubleshooters' find these owners?

Owners are found by them applying to the administrators.
The administrators job is simply to get the most money for the creditors at the time.
The Governing bodies job is simply to lay down the rules and make sure all clubs abide by them.


What some are spouting on here is truly rubbish.

That a Governing body should break the law by ensuring that the administrators to not deliver the best value for creditors.
That they should effectively be a second management team at every club to ensure that the club does not go bust. (who is going to pay for all these extra staff?)
To over rule the financial decisions of a private business like some communist dictatorship.

Clubs are private companies and so have to comply with the law and regulations of the land.
They are also sporting organisations and so must comply with the rules of the game on and off the field.

Reports on social media from some journalists last night that the players have been banned from training as they're not insured, and that season tickets already purchased may not be honoured as the money has gone. Very worrying for those fans and players affected, hopefully a decent resolution can be found soon

One of those "journalists" being Danny Lockwood - a highly reputable source of information.

BTW I'm not saying it isn't true.
