Maybe. Although I'm a Wigan fan and Burgess has had a terrific season, it seems a bit harsh not to give McGillvary a shot after the year he's had. Personally I'm not convinced he's international class, but I guess there's only one way to find out.

Joe Burgess is a player that like to go around people rather then through them and there simply wasn't any space on Sunday. There isn't a winger I'd rather have in front of him when it come to having a bit of open space in front of him. Not only is he rapid but his rugby brain is fantastic and the amount of assists he has is very impressive.

It's up to the halves and his centre to work that space for him. In the meantime though he's safe and solid and I'd be stunned if he didn't keep his place.

There were a couple of changes I would have made before KO - Bateman & Farrell - who I would still change. I had no problem with Burgess being picked, even though I am a huge McGillvary fan. I'd be surprised to put it mildly, however, if there are any changes for the 2nd test, subject to injury.

I'd be surprised if Tom Burgess didn't receive at least a caution from the disciplinary panel for what I thought was a blatant shoulder charge.

I'm no Huddersfield fan but from an objective viewpoint the 2 penalties that changed the game in Leeds favour were not penalties and Leeds were very fortunate to receive them.

None of that alters the fact that Leeds were penned inside their own 10 on tackle 4 with the clock ticking and being 8 points down.

They were dead and buried if they'd been forced to kick at the end of that set but Hicks gave them a penalty that wasn't and backed that up with another dubious call.

Leeds are good enough to seize that kind of a lifeline but they needed the intervention of the referee to get the win!

For my money, the penalty awarded to Ablett close to his line was a cert, he had his wrist pulled just as he attempted to ptb. Koppy was unlucky only in so far as play was held up which gave the VR chance to intervene. Then again, the tackle was a ridiculous one, given the score and the clock. It's worth noting that in 7 GFs Leeds have yet to concede a point beyond the 61 minute mark. Not indulging in the kind of horseplay outlined above ranks high in the list of reasons why.

Hicks got 2 vital decisions wrong, the first one being the most important as it gave Leeds a way out of a situation which most likely would have seen them kicking from inside their own 20m. Short of a Huddersfield error Leeds would have been dead and buried because the clock would have beaten them, even with Hicks intervention Hall scored on the hooter.

Congratulations on winning all three trophies, I've enjoyed watching Leeds play but don't delude yourself that you sometimes needed the breaks to go your way to achieve it.
