Sure they didn't just 'conveniently become skint' last night. Many of those missing, however, will have been season pass holders. Once the pass is paid for, there's only car parking and maybe a drink to pay for during the regular season. Conversely, it would have cost a family with a couple of kids around £60 to attend last night's game. After the expense of the recent Wembley trip and with season passes already on sale for next year, it would have been beyond many people. And, as I alluded to earlier, people do have things other than rugby to consider.



I've already said that [usome[/u will have been put off by our poor performances in recent weeks, especially the Saints one. I know of at least two people who are 'non-regular' supporters who went to the Saints game and didn't go last night because of that. Not everyone is a die-hard fan who will go come what may, but equally, not everyone who didn't go 'couldn't be bothered'.

Never brag about our support as it can come back and bite us on the ar$e but 98 consecutive home games of 10.000+ is hard to ignore...as for play-off matches...cant remember the last one that was well watched.Even when we played you last season in play offs..was only 8,600 there.

we have been very poor recently, Catalans never get me excited, bad weather and it was on sky so I saved money

will I go to Huddersfield or wherever next week? No because it's on sky and I can save even more money

money saved will go towards my 2014 season pass as like most people money Is tight

the bottom line though is that Hull FC still have great support home and away
and yes we are still sulking over our dismal display at Wembley

This will be my 3rd time of saying on different threads but you are wrong. I worked at the Boulevard on turnstiles and cashier for 16 years, for my sins also working at Rovers and Leeds. They are not allowed to count pre-paid seats, only those coming through the turnstiles for various reasons one of which is health & safety, they need to know EXACTLY how many people are in the ground. On cup matches when it is a cup match and usually a shared gate, you are shadowed by someone from the opposition on everything you do. Like I said on your board to General Troll aka Zod, it would be pretty silly to announce a higher attendance with a shared gate, if they wanted to "fiddle" and make more money and not pay as much to the opposition they would announce a lot lower gate. But why listen to someone who actually cashied at these matches for 16 years

7k at Warrington's 2nd round play off against Hull with over 1.5k fans. What's your excuse for such a poor turn out? You have your fair share of boasters about how great your following is. 7k for a successful club having a good season against a side who brought good numbers isn't great is it? The figures show that we're one of the better supported sides in the league. No 'self appointment' required - simple fact. Not sure what your problem is TBH. It's not as if Wire have poor attendances - your average is going to be somewhere around ours. Is this another one of your petty responses to some perceived slight?

The only team who claims to have the best fans is Warrington. Who are by all accounts only started to be supported well when the money came in.

Well I am a hull fan and I didn't attend last night finances are very tight but if I really wanted to go I would of been able to find the cash. Don't know about others but for me the reason I go to watch a live sporting event compared with watching it on TV is the atmosphere and with no away support we all know that the atmosphere was going to be poor. The weather was a bit of a factor not that I would be a little bit chilly on the way to the game or I would get wet, but the fact that it was pi**ing it down and since the introduction of the rhino ball most games in the rain have been poor (granted last night wasn't as bad I thought it was going to be). I was at work at 5 sat morning and living 30mins out of hull that is all ways a consideration (but if I was excited by the game that wouldn't of put me off).

I could go on ..... But we are all fans and we all have decisions to make I know personally if money was no object I'd go to every game home and away but as it is I have to make a decision week by week wear I spend my money

No, i'm not even that fussed with yours, but we put up with FC fans constantly pipping up about attendances up on high in those Ivory Towers.

It was a poor turnout last night but that doesn't turn us into crap supporters. We've turned out in numbers week in week out this season and have been one of the best supported teams consistently for the last ten years. Hull fans contribute a hell of a lot to super league, people should remember that.
