The fact that Kosh has to asdk "why" to that question highlights everything wrong with the game's current method of expansion. The sad thing is - the RFL would probably ask the same question.

Didn't the RFL say they weren't giving the Crusaders any financial help when they were in trouble and that they were just advising them, then last week we here the RFL are owed £700,000 by Crusaders.

They must be expensive advisors or did I just imagine the whole debacle.

I will probably wake up soon and the Celtic chairman Leighton Samuels will be holding a press conference to announce their £1m profit.

At least the last 4 pages of this thread consist of argument about how the RL chose who was given a place in SL and why, and no-one actually knows the truth for certain. Clearly then there is a lack of transparency about which the majority are unhappy and which was always going to be the case once factors off the pitch became more important than a team's performance on it.

Given the RFL spokesman's performance on the now infamous granada television interview where Gordon Burns merely asked him to justify the inclusion of Crusaders, and he couldn't, its no wonder people are complaining about lack of transparency. There's only so much weaseling you can do before reasonable people write you off as a weasel.

they literally dont need to get any points, not one, they could conceivably be admitted to the league with 0 points on the published criteria.

Maybe it is simply your misunderstanding of what actually happened which causes so much animosity towards the process.

The tick box criteria was used to place clubs in to groups of A, B and C.

If there were less than 14 clubs in groups B and A, the clubs in those groups automatically qualified,

The RFL then picked the best from group C in their subjective opinion, regardless of whether the club in group C got 4 points or 0 points. It is perfectly conceivable that the top 14 points scorers, werent the 14 clubs admitted to the league.
