you are claiming fans and players who came through at other clubs as players developed by Hull KR, what absolute nonsense.
as for you being in SL for only 4 seasons and not having the academy to bring through the necessary players yet, it doesnt explain why Hull KR needed to bring in Rhys Lovegrove instead of a player like Kyle Amor, Ben Fisher instead of a player like Bob Beswick, why you arent giving a go to a player like Danny Allen
there isnt an excuse to immediately go abroad, why pretend you dont have other options, you do, there are young players not quite getting a game at some SL clubs, and some decent players in the lower leagues.

He wasnt poached, he was signed from the lower leagues, which was the point you bloody idiot!. Why arent you going out and signing young talented players from the lower leagues of this country instead of the lower leagues in Australia?
and what does it matter when you signed Ben Fisher, you have been in SL for 4 years now, you have ample opportunity to replace him.

| i can never understand why more SL clubs dont look to the lower leagues for good british talent? using my own club as a good example, over the last few years we have signed raleigh, lunt, kirmond, from the lower league's who are all first team regulars and very good first team players at that.we have also signed, mcnally and kyle wood who have been tipped for big future's that will only imrpove them as players training with full time players and coaches of a super league club
thats not to mention the likes of cudjoe, lawrence, crabtree and patrick who are all also first team regulars who have all come through our academy teams at some point, plus mcgilvary, elliott hodgson, keal carlile, josh griffin, alex brown and adam walker who have all played first team RL in the last 2 seasons.

| no offence mate but hudds has had there fare share of help from the rugby league so its no suprise that you could have a good youth set up as when you were relegated from super league you recived huge amounts of parachute payments so you could practicaly stay as a superleague team unfortinatly we havent had the luck of anything such as a merger to help us out nor i would want that but it does help your team a hell of a lot as you and hull got the pick of all the youth from sheffield and gateshead respectivly

| that was 10 years ago though, we didn't get help from the rugby league at all,yes we received the parachute payment when we finally did go down, but so did all the other clubs, we are still rebuilding our clubi from that period and signing good british talent is part of that rebuilding process.

why not discuss hkr's inadequancies without bringing other sides into it?
Some would say hkr have been lucky to have a established super league club on their door step, so the transition of our players from hull to hkr has been easy(no house moves, travelling).
From a 400k cap to the ability to spend full due to a big backer, a coach with good nrl contacts and dispentation on quota.
But you carry on about mergers that happened a decade ago.

Rovers will do what's best for HKR within the rules the RFL govern. If the RFL don't like they should change the rules. It may have escaped your notice but SL is business and that business is winning games, not developing an England RL squad.
I don't like it as much as anybody but until the RFL gets serious about a paradigm shift of what responsibilities clubs have why should the clubs?

| Hull KR are struggling on many different levels and this is just the latest in what will be a long line of desperate measures. They came into SL with a very cocky attittude, their chairman desperate to get one over on Hull FC any way he could, now wants out, he has, by his own admission, been paying players more than they're worth in order to secure their services (Paul Cooke being a prime example, look how that turned out ). 4 years on they are now a few million quid in debt, crowds are dropping, their stadium is awful, as is their marketing and it would appear their youth system is failing too. Lesson to be learned - don't run before you can walk.

and your attitude would be the same if for instance, Simon Moran offered massive wages to Inglis, Marshall, Slater, Blair, Smith, then outright told them those wages couldnt be honoured because of the salary cap and encouraged the players to launch a legal case against the salary cap so Simon Moran can spend the millions he has on winning everything, spending so much a smaller club like HKR couldnt compete?
after all, SL is a business and that business is winning games..............

Im not sure how Hull KR can justify their place in the top tier if all they are doing is giving hom to players who werent good enough to get a gig in the NRL like Fisher and Lovegrove. People complain when expansion clubs do that, they should come down 10 times worse on a club like Hull KR with one of the strongest amateur bases in the country on its doorstep.

good job we don't have to justify anything then, we are within the rules, if it is such a massive issue for the game then the RFL should do something about it. Until they do clubs will do whatever they feel is best for them, just like any other business would do.
re the comment about Moran, no I wouldn't blame him, and if the RFL hasn't got it's together to deal with that possible eventuality then it is their own fault.
My solution to this problem would be:
For Uk SL clubs
250k pounds of the SL grant must be spent on jnr teams and reserve grade
All Sl clubs have to run a min 10 under 12's and 10 under 15's teams
All SL clubs must run an elite academy program and scholarship program for under 16's
All SL clubs must run and under 18's and under 20's squad
The remainder of the SL grant should be based on number of English players in their squad
Only overseas players allowed to be signed have to have played rep level in the last two seasons (SOO or Int)
All assistant coaches have to be English
I'd love to see HKR (or any SL time) with 13 English players and 4 rep level foreigners, but if I am honset I would rather see us be succesful, maintain our Sl place and win some silverware, regardless of where the team come from.

So i ask you again, why should a club like Leeds, or Warrington, or even Hull FC, abide by rules 'for the good of the game' like the Salary Cap to keep clubs like Hull KR competitive if Hull KR feel under no obligation to make any contribution to the stability of the game?
And you are wrong, under the license system you do need to justify your contribution to the game.

Bit discriminatory isn't it???
So you get 2 applications for the position of assistant coach with some club, identical experience qualifications etc etc... but the one bloke doesnt get the job because he is not English???
You cannot discriminate against people because of the colour, race or any other reason.

because those are the rules, just like HKR are operating within the rules. If a club wants to ask for exepmtions on salary cap then they can, if they get it then so be it that will be the RFL's decision.
ps we have a multi millionaire backer on our board, they can up the salary cap if they like, we'll still be spending full.

They are rules that could be legally challenged, If Wire have no obligation to act for the good of the game why shouldnt they challenge those rules?
and similar to the RFLs compromising on quota rules, it wasnt the RFLs decision, it was the RFLs attempt at doing what was best for the game in a very difficult legal area with some clearly hostile clubs
ps, your backer isnt in the same game as Caddick or Moran, never mind the same league money wise.
