| Quote ="Cecil B"I think the point being made here is that in the past, even with a few injuries, Leeds were sufficiently superior to the majority of other sides in the comp that they could scratch a win. Evidently that's no longer the case.
Incidentally, when Leeds played Cas in round 1 they did so with an almost full strength side (a workmate told me before the game that they'd have no excuses if they lost cos they had a full strength team out) and the benefit of a competitive hit out the week before against Crusaders. So injuries can't be used as an excuse for that result.
I'd still be surprised if Leeds don't make the top 4 but given the results so far they can be far from certain of it. Which (Leeds fans excepted) most people will agree is good for the game....'"
Hey, I love the current situation at Leeds. It makes it more exiting knowing that we can lose any game rather than knowing we'd have to stink it up to lose.

What's suddenly changed in the close season that could not be seen in the previous 3 years or 4 of the previous 6?
Did everybody else just ignore what you now know?
With all the resources available to clubs you would think that is a long period for "Leeds to be found out".
Your a dipstick, admit it and move on. We have a competitive competition at present so enjoy it. Normal business will be resumed come the end of the year.

I can't remember when this current squad have ever had so many injuries so I'm not sure how much your first remark stands up!
Regarding the Cas match, Cas won fair and square and nobody hinted other wise, same as last year at home to Quinns and Salford.

Excellent point.
What is the difference in Leeds losing to Cas and Hull KR this year, to losing to Salfor and Quinns last year?
Or losing to Wakefield away this year to losing to Catalans last year?
Posters get so caught up in pathetic jelousy that they fail to understand they are devaluing their own teams achievement.

| Quote ="Saddened!"There have been a lot of rumblings of discontent at Leeds recently. Despite winning the Grand Final last season a lot of their players moaned on about having to sacrifice money for the cause of keeping the squad together. That kind of situation is always going to collapse eventually as people naturally put money above glory once they've experienced it.
The WCC winning bonus was discussed publicly by the players at Leeds as well, they clearly saw that game as being important enough to win. Jamie Peacock, their captain, has also done an incredible amount of moaning and complaining about the volume of meaningless regular season matches he has to lower himself to be involved with. It's fair to say he has a bee in his bonnet about that and I doubt they've been going all out for the win like a few teams have this early in the season. They have the experience to know that you don't win SL in March. Wigan and Warrington fans are absolutely cockahoop about their sides performances, their brilliant, outstanding performances and their amazing, incredible new coaches. If results went against them next weekend (I'm not suggesting they will), both could be level with St Helens (Being booed by their own fans and a spent force) with only 1 game lead over Leeds, so it's far too early to start drawing lines under the teams in the top 4 spots. The likes of Warrington and Wigan won't win a thing if they keep up the intensity and effort they've shown so far all season. It's not physically possible and Leeds are masters are timing their run to OT.
I think losing that game and Sinfield's solidity for a few weeks, aligned to their other injuries just means they are not firing on all cylinders. I still expect them to finish in the top 2. They are a side capable of winning 10 games on the bounce and there aren't many of those in Super League.'"
Not sure I fully get you point about money as there are always two very good reasons to win any final, glory and money. Remember, prize money does not count on the cap so I suspect that both Saints and Leeds players wanted both, assuming that both clubs would pass the prize money to the squad based on some sort of pre-arranged deal in terms of dividing the money up.
I can see the fact that some 'star' players may want to move to a side lower down the pecking order to take a bigger slice of pie from that clubs cap but, I don't it will bring them a doubling in salary per-say. Moving to RU might be the real money option!

What are these rumblings of discontent? genuine question, just it's the first time I've heard anything about it.

That is sort of what I meant as well Tony, I don't think there has been rumblings and Kevin's GF comments were meant to be a positive, not a negative as maybe Sad is viewing them.

| Leeds is a ticking time bomb.
Let's not screw around here, we all know they have the ability and the quality, it's a question of when.
Still despite the injuries and poor form they are essentially 4 points from top 2. 4 points is nothing, espevcially with 3/4's of the season to go.
Admittedly they have tough games coming up, but that can be viewed as a positive in that it gives them direct opportunity to make ground on certain teams.
Leeds are a team capable of making the grand final from outside the top 2 and if they go on a good run in the playoffs I don't think who ever get's ''club call'' will be picking them.

It they get a chance,I think the Saints club would, if they struggle to beat them in a final, they would have a crack at them on the home ground.

It wasn't raining in 07 when we put 30 on you or in 2009 when we made it 3 in a row.

| What is the injury situation like coming up to Thursday?
It it beyond the realms of possibility that Bradford could cause an 'upset' away on Thursday?
