Exactly, it isn't even that long ago that we had Radlinski, Robinson, Long etc playing in the backs. Our backs are now even further from the aussies.

To be fair, Radlinski and Long were pretty shocking for GB/England. Its not that are backs are bad we just lack the gamebreakers. Mind you if you don't have halfbacks who are able to give them decent service or a pack who can lay the platform and give them space to play it doesn't who you have in the backs.

Hopfully, the likes of Watkins, Lomax, Lawrence, Jones-Bishop etc can all have a strong end to the year and stake a claim for selection.

Morley, McShane, Mason, JJB
Obviously at the end of the season Burgess, Ellis and Widdop should be available. Players such as McGuire, Watkins and Ben Jones Bishop will be fully fit and people like Harrison and Bridge will be pushing hard for a spot. Four Nations team potentially:
Tomkins
Briscoe, Shenton, Watkins, Hall
Brough, McGuire
Graham, Roby, Peacock
Burgess, Ellis
O'Loughlin
Morley, Widdop, Westwood, JJB

| Is it just me but why are people picking their teams based on players who are NOT in either the England senior team or the England Knights.
If McNamara is serious about preparing for the 4 N then he will be picking people from those squads.
He may add to those squads and a have to admit that some players have forced their way into them and will now be considered for selection on the basis of their performances this season But unless he does that he cannot really pick anyone outside of those two squads otherwise it makes a mockery of the whole process.
I also think people have short memories. Only a few months ago no one would play McGuire for England again yet now he is mentioned as the likely England no 6

| McGuire was the best stand off in Super League last season before his injury imo. If he can regain that form he should be starting for England.

After the 4N they were. Brown was terrible during the International Series.

| Have I missed something with Shenton?
What I've seen of him this year, think he's been nowhere near good enough for England.
I thought Macnamara was picking players in form.

| Sam Tomkins
Briscoe
Shenton
Bridge
Charnley/McGillavary(?)/Foster/Hall (Although I'd consider Atkins on the wing)
Myler (Is he fit? He thrives alongside Briers, Brough could be a good fit)
Brough
Graham
Roby
Morley
Westwood
Joel Tomkins
O'Loughlin
Mossop
Watts
Farrell
Lunt
Thats a young bench, but I think all 3 forwards will be England regulars in a couple of years.

| For me the wingers would have to be Tom Briscoe and Jermaine Mcgillvary.
I cant see McGuire playing.
And isnt Morley passed it? At 33 surely it is time to give someone like Farrell or Harrison a go.

And for those putting Sinfield at loose of O'Loughlin, seriously?!

| don't see why people are having sinfield over lockers. He's not even playing 13 for leeds at the minute! But he is doing a good job at 6. At the minute I'd go with...
1. Sam Tomkins
2. Tom Briscoe
3. Kirk Yeaman
4. Michael Shenton
5. Jermain McGillvary
6. Kevin Sinfield
7. Danny Brough
8. James Graham
9. James Roby
10. Jamie Peacock
11. Joel Tomkins
12. Ben Westwood
13. Sean O'Loughlin
14. Liam Farrell
15. Luke Robinson
16. Lee Mossop
17. Adrian Morley
for me it's probably the form players in the comp. Liam Farrell and Mossop have been brilliant for us. Mossop is making tons and tons of yards and is massive! A great prop in the making. Farrell could be around the england side for years. I had Joel Tomkins at centre but we would have been a bit weak in the second row without him considering we have no ellis or burgess. Picked sinfield at 6 because hes been carrying leeds from there at 6, for me kevin brown doesn't cut it at international level at all.

| I'm not even joking but some of these teams are never going to beat the aussies. They have got average super league players in them and the backs will be less threatening than a teddy bear to the aussies. For a bit of flair this is what it should be (This is with the NRL players available and should be our team for the 4N)
Tomkins
Briscoe
Reed
Watkins
Foster
Widdop
Lomax
Graham
Roby
Peacock
Burgess
Harrison
Farrell
Lunt
Mossop
Tomkins
Ben Jones Bishop
This team in 2 years time will beat the aussies. The pace in the backs is quality and our forwards are mobile and get through tonnes of work and all average 30+ tackles a game in SL

Based on form this season, yes.
I've not even seen or heard Mossop this season so I'm guessing the majority of people including him are Wigan fans.
Lynch carries Bradford every season and never gets his chance and deserves his shot. Sinfield over O'Loughlin purely because I think Sinfield offers that extra dimension and can also revert to hooker when O'Loughlin comes on and Roby goes off.
