| Quote ="ShelleyGiant"Friday night and Sky coverage usually keeps a lot of our armchair/watch it in the pub, supporters away. A 10,000 plus crowd depends on how many Wiggoon fans make the trip over. I'm expecting around 8/9,000 Fartowners there, I'd be surprised/delighted if more than that many "fans" turned up to give the lads the support they deserve. If only we could win a bit of silver to get the "floating supporters" to attend on a regular basis. It's a very difficult to get some of the fans back on board after all the years in the wilderness with unwanted mergers etc etc. A fair few fans deserted us in the dark days to watch winning teams like the Bulls and then Lids and a fair few of these whom I know are slowly coming round and attending a few games and following us in spirit, no doubt if we can start winning things they'll desert their adopted teams and come back and be regular supporters again. Our support is gradually improving year on year, and a cup this season could be the boost we need to get the regular 5 figure crowds the chairman, players and staff deserve.

I think the Pies will take around 1500. Quite good travellers and Huddersfield isn't that far to drive or hard to get to by train.
I'd say Huddersfield, The Pies and Warrington are far superior to the rest this year.

| Even with the Tomkins' I would have gone with Hudds, without them I would be suprised to see Wigan win.
It was obvious from our game against them on Sunday that they don't like physical teams that are willing to play rough and get in their faces and if anything Hudds are even more physical than Hull are.

You are having a Giraffe arent you.
Official club statistics show that fri night games 40% of Season Ticket holders do not attend
Out of our group of 10. 4 cannot attend this game so some personal experience backs it up
If our ST sales are 5000 then that means that 2000 Giants fans will not be attending.
If Wigan bring 1500 then i reckon the attendance will be about 7000 to 7500. Tops.
I know of a lot of regular fans who have to travel who cannot attend fri night fixtures, with it being on Sky they will not attend.
Friday night games are =#FF0000disastrous for the Giants attendances regardless of whether they are on Sky or not.

Madge's one SL title to Brown's zero title's suggests otherwise. But I'm sure you'll come back with a response to try and back up your claim.

Maguire had more to work with. Brown had turned a mid table team into a competitive team. There's not much in them though and of course, it's only my opinion.

I kind of agree. Their both the finest coaches in SL, that goes without saying.

Ah my major worry. The fact that Madge might not be with us for long because of his demand in the NRL. You've seen the articles right?

15 minutes to walk a mile at average walking speed. You will need to set off at about 4pm to incorporate all the pubs on the route.

I'd rather Wigan were at full strength so it could be a proper yard stick to where we are in comparison to the champions. TBH Joel playing won't make much difference IMO, Sam on the other hand will be a big loss to Wigan.

My thoughts as well, Sam will be missed but Joel needs to up his game when he can play again as he hasn't been playing well so far. With players like Hoffman, Hansen and Farrell I think he may find it hard to get back into the starting 13 unless Maguire plans to switch him to centre quicker than anticipated with Gleeson's absence.

| As I've wrote in my preview - Would you expect Huddersfield to compete away at Wigan without Scott Grix, Leroy Cudjoe, David Hodgson, Kevin Brown, Danny Brough, Eorl Crabtree and Luke O'Donnell? Or Warrington if they had Brett Hodgson, Matt King, Joel Monaghan, Lee Briers, Richie Myler, Adrian Morley and Ben Westwood all absent?
Thats basically what Wigan are up against with Sam Tomkins, Martin Gleeson, Pat Richards, Paul Deacon, Stuart Fielden, Joel Tomkins, Brett Finch and Eamon O'Carroll all out. On paper it should be a Hudds walk over but I'm not expecting it to be. Wouldn't surprise me if we won in truth but think Huddersfield would have to play poor and flat for us to do so.

| Cant use injuries as an excuse. Leeds fans arent and we had 9 out friday. Last year when we played at the DW we had 6 out and competed for 65 minutes against you. Both teams have some good youngsters and I still reckon it'll be close.

You can't compare playing Salford to Huddersfield but I'm not using it as an excuse, I'm just saying that on paper Hudds should win easily. I'm saying if that was the situation the other way round I would be disappointed if Hudds managed to compete with us. It doesn't always go that way though as our Good Friday 2003 victory against Saints proved once upon a time.

I also used us travelling to your place last year as a better example but I reckon all the top teams could compete with players missing. People underestimate how good the young kids are over here. You and Hudds have had 2 of the better U20s recently.
