I think that's the good thing about this year, everyone believes they have what it takes (with a couple of good, lucky results) to get to the CC semi/final and to the back end of the playoffs. Think it's wide open myself this year and only a couple of teams have been left behind (Wakie, Crusaders, Quins). Hopefully when we play you on the last day of the season we'll (Cas) already be in the playoffs unlike last year with that last kick. God that hurt.

Very true. I'd also say that, although no-one likes being without RL to watch, having a decent break between seasons sharpens the appetite. I'm always amazed at Premier League wendyball in this regard: a club seems to become champions on 31st May and then they kick-off again before the end of July.

Theres a huge air of excitement at Bradford. Like a snowball rolling down a hill we've had a steady stream of positive events starting off with Macnamara sodding off, the £60 season ticket offer which has attracted over 10k season ticket holders, then we get Mick Potter and recruit usefully if unspectacularly. And finally we've had some encouraging results in the pre-season.

Its hard to say how well we'll do but we are definately very excited.

Well you've got Wigan, Wire, Huddersfield, Saints, Leeds, Hull, Rovers, Bradford and probably Salford battling it out in the play off positions. There's very little between these clubs and Catalans, Quins and Cru can potentially mix it up in there as well for 8th spot. Wakey to defy all expectations again and string a few results together. And, Cas will massively disappoint their fans again.

Without wanting to sound like Nigel Wood, it'll be the closest and best comp yet. How can anyone not be massively excited??

I think Hull fans in general are very unexcited about the new season, there are serious concerns about our lack of Half Back cover, the ability of Agar as a coach and the weakness of our backs. Our first 3 games of the season are also very tough (Rovers at MM, Leeds at home, Hudds away)

a win or two out of those first 3 would undoubtedly calm the fears though, as would signing another half-back before the start of the season.

Your lot was saying this Agar last season, but you spent the majority of the season in the top 4. The lowest you dipped all season was sixth.

that sounds all well and good on paper. But the reality was, in the games that matter Hull came up short each time.

we exited the CC in the first round for the 2nd year in the row. Lost games against Leeds and Wire that we needed to win to finish top4, and then played abysmally against Rovers in the playoffs.

grinding out boring wins against the struggling sides is one thing, actually performing when it matters and beating the top teams is another.

As a Saints fan I'm very excited about the season.

I'm not sure what people are basing our prospective monumental downfall on, but it certainly can't be the squad.

i'm with you on this but i'm not too pessimistic. i like to start off with low expectations and then be pleasantly surprised if the team do well and hopes then pick up as the season progresses. i've never been one to get over excited before a ball is kicked, in fact i think its a jinx

I'll be honest, at the end of last year I thought Saints would go quiet for a few years to get over the loss of Scully, Long, Cunningham and soon Wellens. But you're young players look really good and while I think this year playing at Widnes and maybe next year in the new ground I think you will be around 4th, the years after that I think Saints will be right up there.

I don't get why people are saying Hull KR. What have they got to be excited about? Willie Mason might not be coming. I'd say they should be more anxious than excited!

Wigan, Warrington as they are the two teams likely to win anything.
Saints, because they're finally out of that sh*thole that is Knowsley Road, and have signed some decent players (and a new coach) so will be challenging also.
Bradford, Salford (host of new players).

And the least excited:
Wakefield (obvious reasons!)
Hull FC (very few signings, players getting possibly sacked, thin squad)

Saints fans never used to get excited cos they all expected just to win everything,now its wigans turn saints fans dont like it

Rovers wil do wel this season without mason(we know he aint comin) pace out wide strong up front,half backs that dont get injured,hate to say it but think they'll do well . b4 saints fans giv it the big un,think b4 ya post, ya noits right
