| 1) Wigan (as much as I hate to admit it they are an awesome team and i wouldnt bet against them finishing top again)
2) Wire (with an extra years experience of handling the pressure of being a genuine contender we can go one better than last year)
3) Leeds (they underachieved last year but they will be back strong next season)
4) St Helens (i see not everyone agrees but i think playing home games at widnes will take its toll)
5) Hull KR (on their day they are a match for anyone they just need more consistency)
6) Huddersfield (while not being spectacular they are a far better team than their pathetic support deserves)
7) Hull FC (an average mid table finish from a very average team)
8. Salford (with their new signings and with the feel good factor at the club due to the confirmation of the new stadium i can see them sneaking into the play offs)
9) Bradford (i can see it being a long way back for the former giants of the game)
10) Castleford (on their day they can surprise most teams but they have too weak a squad to be taken that seriously)
11) Catalans (A very hard team to beat at home but equally poor away)
12) Crusaders (Massively over-achieved last season, i cant see it happening again)
13) Wakefield (Everyone at the club will know the club is a dead man walking as far as losing their SL place is concerned which wont do much to motivate the team)
14) Harlequins (terrible at home, even worse away, poor support at home and none away they are a disgrace to the SL)

| Wigan - Added impressively to an already formidable squad.
St Helens - Some decent additions should make them stronger and maybe a little less predictable.
Warrington - Added an extra dimension with Hodgson.
Leeds - Always strong and will be again.
Hull KR - Added what was needed. Extra punch in the pack and a new S/O
Huddersfield - Seem to have lost a bit of squad depth but should still go well.
Bradford - Added much needed depth to their squad and already have some good players.
Hull FC - I dont see any improvement in their squad. They have replaced a winger with a winger of equal standard and have added to their array of loose forwards with another one. Injuries again could ruin their season, the depth of their squad isn't great.
not sure about the rest to be honest, but i think crusaders and quins will struggle.

Yeah...they are real disgrace to SL......Full of local lads, a Young English coach, Englands top try scorer at the 4 nations and well under the cap and quota regulations.....not forgetting debt free. Yep...a real disgrace
Wire were the better team by 72 points over 2 games in 2010.....Quins by 52 in 2009. Average score betwen the teams since 2000 season is 23-29 to Wire.....a real slaughter statistic 24 games, 13 Wire, 11 Quins....god, we are a disgrace...you were so right
Back on thread.
Wigan to win it......Crusaders, Wakey, Quins to fight over the wooden spoon and St Helens to win the CC.

| 1. Wigan - the stronger get stronger.
2. St Helens - the loss of Cunningham could effect them but have recruited well, the slowest back 3 in the comp?
3. Wire - A good settled squad with a extra dimension at fb, their important players are ageing but Myler could come of age.
4. Hull FC - Sharp replaces Calderwood who only played 4 games and Westerman get a chance to play along side a true great of the game, competed well with out a settled half back pairing last season keeping them and their other ageing players fit is key.
5. Hull KR - Green will be steady, Mason can destroy side out wide, Hall will get heavily protected in defence. Like Wire, Fc and Leeds alot will depend on their ageing players.
6. Leeds - have their signings improved them? I don't think so. Webb, Senior, Cross, Peacock and Buderus have seen better years.
7. Huddersfield - when was the last time team mates exchanged punches in a game? Brough v O'Donnell should be a belter.
8. Bradford - They look well balanced but with no real quality in the backs.
9. Les Cats
10. Cas
11. Salford
12. Wakefield

| Interesting season next year.
1) Wigan, Lima and Hoffman will add the forward power Wigan sometimes lacked.
2 to 6) could be anyone from:
Warrington, age might just catch up with them.
Leeds, could struggle early doors without Peacock.
St Helens, same problem with Perry and, possibly, Shenton, but still look better up front.
Huddersfield, O'Donnell will add strength to the pack, still not sure about their front row.
Hull KR, IF Mason turns up and performs, will have improved.
7) Hull FC, only real quality signing is Westermann, but they still have a good team.
8/9) Salford or Bradford, really depends on which team can gel the quickest.
10) Castleford, they'll be hit hard by the loss of Shenton and Westermann.
11 - 14) anyone from:
Catalans, might struggle again this season.
Crusaders, with everything going on they're going to struggle.
Wakefield
Quins.

Where did Catalans finish last year? I fail to see how they've strengthened from last season, especially, when they seem to have lost some key players.
Salford's most important signings have been largely missed. The appointment of two fulltime assistant coaches and a new strength and conditioning coach. Who, surely, can't be any worse than Andy Haigh!!! Add to that, the extra attacking ability of Feka, Patten, Anderson and Wild. There are many ifs and buts surrounding Salford next season, but the extra coaching support for McRae and the new players added to the likes of: Smith, Ratchford, Holdsworth, one of the best stand offs in the league, Cashmere, Sidlow, Gibson and Broughton, and we've got one hell of a team next season.
This said, many of the top 8 seem to have made some really important signings. So I'm not too confident of a big improvement, table wise, but, performance wise, teams shouldn't be taking us lightly next season!!!!! Who knows, maybe McRae will, finally, get his MOJO back.

I'm not knocking Salford ! I respect any team especially one coached by Mr McRae ! Just to remind you,the Cats did beat the Reds twice last season (the cup game game was too easy, not helped by the Salford team having the long drive down etc) so,despite being at the foot of the table I don't think there was too much between the teams. However,
2010 has been and gone - it's a new era at Perpignan with a young & ambitious coach with a knowledge of the french ways which is important - he has new signings and a whole new atmosphere about the place.
Losing Greenshields for most of he season was integral plus losing Bosc,Ferriol,Mogg,Bird,& Walker to name but a few for long periods was a major factor plus the obvious ineptitude of Walters as coach who somehow felt it easier to coach from BEHIND the posts ! Happily, this era has finished - Unfortunately the club is still strongly influenced by the President Mr Guasch which could be the only hinderance to Trent Robinson, just as it is to Bobbie Goulding in the France outfit.
I'm quite confident the Cats will finish mid-table with Salford just below.

I'm just thinking with a new coach, playing at Widnes and doubts about the fitness of key players such as Eastmond and Pryce that 2011 will be abit of a transitional season for Saints.

yes,can see your points and have to agree with some of them regarding key players but I believe we will still be in the top three - I can't see playing at Widnes as a disadvantage, you can't afford to be sentimental at this level of RL.I can't see anyone touching Wigan with the Wires a distant second - I believe the 'transitional' clubs will be Leeds, Bradford & the Dragons - I just worry about Brian Mac plus JL at Leeds, both great players but can they gel as a coaching force with an ageing squad for example ?

Wigan
Saints
Leeds
Wire
Hudds
Hull FC
Hull KR
Will make the playoffs. I would be surprised if more than one (if any) of these failed to make the 8. Hopefully this will mean some good competition for the others to try and make the play offs. My money is on those 7 plus Bradford.

Likewise, I'm not knocking the Cats and fully appreciate the injuries you had last season. I do, however, think the top 7 are already set, and the rest of us are playing for that final spot. Bradford have signed even more players than Salford, although I would question the quality of some of their squad, but yourselves seem to have lost a few of your better players. Salford have, maybe, signed one too many older players, and the course of our season hinges on the development of our young props and the plugging some of the holes in our leaky defence. If we can manage that, then we'll steal the march on the remaining teams.

can't disagree with much of that - the final place will be the most difficult to predict - speaking of older players,Robinson signed Steve Menzies for a season which is either madness or sheer genius ! I'm looking forward to seeing him play along with all the other new recruits - Greenshields is back to full fitness which is a major boost but the Bosc injury is a great concern - he should have had an operation last season but delayed it apparently until the end of the season - he's a quality act when fit - Joel Monaghan is considering a move to Perpignan which will be great for the Cats IMO - I think the future is positive in Perpignan.

Monaghan, playing wise, he would be quality signing. We'll have to wait and see if Menzies can still hack the pace, can't say I saw enough of him last season to comment. Steveo and Eddie could be right next year, it really could be the closest super league season ever.
