Saving RL is beyond my mortal powers and I suspect that whilst I admire his statistical fortitude, young Billy the Kid doesn't have the answers either. I had a similar run-in with him. There's a basic formula - he says something that's factually incorrect, you pull him up on it, he hides behind that fact a load of pommy-hating Aussies have backed him up on fb or Twitter and thinks that makes him right. Absolute weapon, but entertaining at times.
