| Hardly.
Lomax, Magennis and Frodsham wouldn't get in your starting 17 if the rest were fit.
When it's 12 regular first-teamers come back and whinge.

| Could it be a ploy to make the season more interesting, still top of the league with half a squad missing.
Then all the players back for the play offs after a 4 to 6 week rest.

End of 1998 we had nine (IIRC) out - all of whom would normally have been in the 17. And we were still beating you at KR in the play-offs - until the Scumster got his revenge on Bradley and then failed to spot a clear trip on Robbie on his way to the line. And my dad's bigger than your dad!

| Working from memory and if I remember correctly, Wakefield had 15 genuine 1st team players injured at one time last year.

| Wigan in 2003 when they were forced to play a full strength bar Keiron Cunningham Saints on Good Friday with three debutants on the bench and a desperate loan signing from Orrell Rugby Union on the wing.
We had 9 proper regulars out that day including Kris Radlinski, Brett Dallas, Jamie Ainscough, Julian O'Neill, Mick Cassidy, Andy Farrell, David Hodgson, Stephen Wild and Gareth Hock.
We played Jon Whittle on the wing loaned from Orrell and the bench included 17 year olds Dave Allen & Mark Roberts and an 18 year old Kevin Brown - all making their debuts.
Despite the absences we remarkably ended up [url=http://wigan.rlfans.com/fusion_pages/index.php?page_id=626winning 24-12 after being 22-12 behind[/url.
No surprise however that the Original Poster didn't want to mention that day. Has anyone else ever had such a devastating amount of injuries but still won a massive match?

Yeah Wigan did similar in 1993 with most of the team being called up for a test but we got spanked 46-0 at Wheldon Road I think in front of the Sky cameras.

| Only a Saints fan would start a topic showing how many injuries their club has! Excuses in preperation for forthcoming losses perhaps?

| Its unlikely Saints will receive much sympathy from this neck of the woods, after the games that Millwart played over alleged injuries. The club that cried wolf, those with long memories might say?

| Glad someone else remembers the 'good old days' when Millward would happily pick a reserve team due to 'injuries' in the lead up to a big cup game.

Why would Saints want sympathy from a club that cant even make the top 8 with a full team?

Care to explain how league position effects peoples opinion on a messageboard or are you now suggesting that only fans of clubs int eh top half of the table are allowed to post

I'll take it from your juvenile response that you accept my argument was irrefutable, then?
I was responding, fairly and not trying to troll, to the post raised by a far more sensible Saints poster (from reading his past works on here) than you will ever be (as exemplified by your juvenile comment about Leigh).
Incidentally, we have had our fair share of injuries, and to pivotal players, throughout this season. I think you'll find Wakefield or Hull will likely have the record somewhere along the way.

| Back in the day I remember HKR having 4 players carried off versus Cas, they played most of the second half with 11 players. They lost.

| Well we in the Cru at one point this year had 12 players unavailable to play ill or injured and had to raid the reserves and of those who did play a few were walking wounded.

That game was even better than I remember. I didn't realise we were that good on the day that saints actually dropped ten points in the latter stages icon_wink.gif
