SL re starting is primarily so that they dont lose their Sky monies.
Without fans, playing just becomes a cost (to all clubs) - without the fans, there doesn't seem any way of clubs generating any income, apart from some merchandise.

As a spectator driven business, unless a way can be found fairly quickly, I dont think that any club is going to survive for long, unless their owners dig very, very deep.

If you consider that League 1 & League 2 football clubs are far more wealthy than RL and they have been happy to draw a line under their season (apart from play offs). Accepted that they were much further down the track in terms of completing their season but, the point still stands.

It's going to take some clever thinking and plenty of money or miracle cure for the virus to allow RL with significant numbers of spectators.

The future of the game is far from certain.

Molsk old bean I think you're a fellow Bull. How would we restart our division behind closed doors? We have no TV coverage as SKY are not interested and we operate on fine margins where the cost of opening a stadium with no income may not be financially viable. I wouldn't want Bradford paying rent and other overheads at Dewsbury with no bar receipts and no spectator income. Would you?

With social media readily available, and we have seen first hand how it works, surely it’s possible to do some kind of deal with individuals willing to pay and would pay especially for the bulls, 99.9% of bulls fans would sell there right to watch them,,, anything is worth putting out there in these difficult times

It's just not a runner.
Costs would be higher than monies in and we both know how that one ends.
Nothing to do with the playing field not being level, it's just hard economics.

I would suggest that the SL clubs will also be bleeding cash but, securing the next part of the Sky contribution makes it worth while.

We all have to hope that an end to the covid crisis isn't too far away but, dont hold your breath and even with the re start, there is plenty that could go wrong.

For a daft guy like me, there seems to be an increase of risk in the virus spreading by holding multi game "events" at a limited number of venues, rather than playing the fixtures in the traditional home and away format but, I'm sure that the clever ones at the top of the organisation have thought about this.

Just to put you right on that score chief, Wakefield aren't under any investigation at all, it's the previous owner of the ground who is under investigation under the proceeds of crime act, Wakefields name only crops up in the context of the proceedings. HTH
