Not too sure if Chester can make sufficient change from last week - It would have been great to see a couple of our forwards making it back into the squad.
Soft in defence and impotent going forward.
Catalan are a big physical side and we somehow need to get some decent go forward and be able to handle them down the middle.
Jowitt at FB and Hampshire in the halves, I presume but, it may go the other way round.

The forecast is for plenty of rain, which may force us into playing conservative stuff.

One certainty ins that we need to complete our sets and have a decent plan at the end of each set.
Although we managed some repeat sets last week, we also turned the ball over so many times on play 1 or 2 and you just cant do that in SL and expect to win anything.

I'm nervous about this one. A win, any win would be great

No Arona again is a blow for me, was hoping to see him back for this one. We have to keep hold of the ball much better than we have been doing, it's ridiculous how many errors we make. However, I'm still looking forward to it and hoping for a massive improvement and fingers crossed, a win!

Lynne may be a doubt, Tupou needs to start getting back to his best, Atkins totally wasted on the wing, on the bench he can cover 2 positions if needed. Doubt CC will pick that 17 though.......

Plenty of rain AND 50 mph winds, so judging by our atrocious handling last week, it doesn't bode well for this week.

Actually thinking about it, I'd swap Batch for Navarette.

With Catalans coming off a performance that was arguably even worse than ours and also missing 7 players themselves we should be beating them on our own patch, especially given the weather conditions expected. I don’t expect a high scoring game but i’ll go for a 10 point win.

I probably agree that Atkins is wasted on the wing but, I wouldn't have him on the bench as a second rower - how much has he played in the pack ??
Him and Lyne, who I appreciate are a new centre wing partnership, looked far from comfortable together. It was as though both wanted to play centre or, perhaps neither wanted to play on the wing ??

Early doors in the hull derby but HKR are going toe to toe with hull , If we can show the same effort and determination on Sun we will be in with a real shout .

Think I’ve just seen a contender for try of the season from HKR , a lesson in how to keep the ball alive and finishing ,top draw .

The game shows how an half back can create gaps for others to run through.

I Would like us to stop standing in a virtual straight line n all when we have the ball. Other teams have players running onto the ball from at least 10m out.

They could be but they are pretty lightweight in the pack. Garbutt and Livett are decent but they wont win many games just chucking it about.

Their secret weapon is their coach, Tony Smith, who has been pretty damn good wherever he has been.
Turned Leeds from overpaid mercenaries into a champion side and almost managed the same at Wire, having previously improved Huddersfield.

He's a great coach and one of the few who seems to work for the game as a whole, rather than just his own club.
Seem to remember him helping us with players, although we have reciprocated this over the last few years.

I know what you mean. Shame we haven't always looked up for it, in derby games against those over the other side of the common in recent years.

I said on the whole last week, that I think overall, their recruitment in the close season was better than ours overall, and I stand by that.

Agree about Smith his teams have always played free flowing rugby.Think that kind of rugby will stop them going down . The more seasons he is there the stronger they will get. Was great to see and just shows how far we are behind.The backing up of both teams was out standing
