Yes, Anthony Gigot is a very special player. Not many Super League centres are better than him. His presence in the Catalans backline should make sure that Les Catalans Dragons make the top eight.

| I was reading last night he’s up for grabs and Cas were possibly looking at him for that fullback spot. I’d like to think Wigan would be sniffing around him to play centre.

Last season, Inu seemed far more dangerous than Gigot, albeit, he's a different type of player but, Inu is now plying his trade with Widnes.
Catalan seem to have problems keeping some of their "better" players and allowing some of those who are on "holiday" to stay.
Has Bird started playing RL yey or, is he still a "cheap shot" merchant.
He must be you're most disappointing import over the last 5 years. Capable of being absolute quality and yet, he seems happy to wind up the opposition and give away penalties.

Which team are you referring to, Catalans was last week, this week I think it's London as they were the only team to win and come away with any credit, although his Toronto side came away with a credible draw against mighty Barrow, unfortunately his team of the moment Tou =#FF0000lose got @rseholed by ferocious Featherstone at the weekend.

| Gigot, for whatever reason, 'technically' refused to do the drug test. The punishment for that is, in the UK, quite clear. Other players have also 'refused' to do the test and, apart from those who have produced spectacular psychiatric evidence, have suffered the consequences.

| Only 2 reasons a player would refuse a drugs test.
1...The testers and test is not within the rules and guidelines.
2... The player has something to hide.

He didn't refuse did he? I thought his ban was for abusing the tester? He actually had 3 negative tests in 6 months.

Sam Barlow, for example, didn't refuse to do the test, but was found guilty of 'abusing' the tester. He got four years. I'm not sure that Gigot actually 'abused' the tester, but was alleged to have made suggestions about how he could avoid the test. I fully understand that he was tested on numerous occasions and, like Barlow, those tests proved negative. The Drug testing agencies' stance on that, would be that any number of negative tests, would not prove that the intended test on that particular day, would have also proved negative.
It is not clear from media reports, exactly who has overturned the ban - the French drug testing agency (unlikely) or the French RL. If it's the latter, shouldn't the RFL be making these decisions or, as in the case of Toulouse opting out of the Challenge Cup, has the RFL no jurisdiction, over a 'non-member' club?

| Being a cycling fan I have mixed feelings about this.
Think Lizzie Deignan (Armistead) who missed three tests but avoided a ban.
I know its not quite the same but there is a big difference between a missed test and a positive.

It is indeed an excellent (re) signing for Catalans - providing he doesn't upset the rest of the squad, like he was rumoured to, last time around.

I tend to agree with you 'jimmy'. And indeed, other sports appear to have a more 'relaxed' view on drug punishments. However, the RFL have been cracking down on missed tests, and must be seen to be doing that for players of ALL clubs. I suspect there is a different viewpoint on this between the RFL and the FFR. If that is the case, surely we can't have differing rules for English, French, Canadian teams in the same competition?

Cue Catalans being unbeaten for the rest of the season, winning CC, LLS and GF now the French Billy Slater/Greg Inglis hybrid has come back for them then Jean? Also, now he is nailed on for MOS?

I am assuming you haven't seen Jean's previous ramblings about Anthony Gigot being the saviour of Catalan Dragons and how good his return alone will make them
Either that or you don't understand the concept of sarcasm?

| Anthony Gigot in the centres will give Catalans a very good chance, in fact near certainty, of making the top 8 this season.
