True, especially as it would've excluded NRL-based players.

This is the team I would select. Centre and scrum half are probably our weakest areas. Prop is where we are strongest.

Houghton and Taylor should be in the 17

Why?

Houghton has been the best hooker by a bloody mile.

Better than Hodgson? And surely not better than Clark "by a bloody mile"?

Bottom line, Hodgson has been shining every week, and doing it against generally much better opposition than Houghton, Roby, Clark face week in, week out. Should be first name on the team-sheet.

Over the last 3 of 4 years Houghton gas been better than Clark
Taylor has been the best English prop in super this season and by some distance too

Not to mention the minutes the guy does. The guy is a medical mystery!

He is, would also do very well in the NRL, however Hodgson has been one of the best players in the NRL, so deserves a start, if we are to play two hookers then it's between Roby, Clarke and Houghton, the latte has outplayed the other two on every occasion this year, but think the other two maybe a better option as a bench hooker.

Sneyd isn't quite ready to play international rugby yet, still a bit inconsistent.

Taylor is an outstanding prop him and Hill are the best two props in the league and not much between them, I'd have them both in the 17 with Graham and G Burgess.

If Bennett has seen the last two Hull games, Shaul might have just blown it as he had saved his worst two games for when Bennett is watching.

Doesn't make him right and looking at the squad he has picked a few on reputation rather than form.

Also Kyle Amor? Must be a good few props better than him this year (or the last few seasons)
