It appears that Sky couldn't be bothered to shoot a "Top tries" or "2014 Superleague Review" for the holiday period. Traditionally broadcast on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve I cannot find either of the shows in the TV schedules. Are Sky ready to pull the plug on Superleague?

It must mean that Sky are ready to pull the plug on Super League. After all, what else could it mean?

Oh, hang on......Perhaps it is Sky's way of protesting against Nigel Wood's failure to announce the inclusion of Toulouse in the Championship for 2016 in a timely manner?

Many said that they got RL on the cheap but, got it they did and they are pumping your brass into RL for another 7 years, so definitely not ready to "pull the plug"

Sky also had gained the TV rights for the championship last season and chose not to show anything other than the two play off finals, so having the rights does not gaurentee anything other than the paltry fee paid for the rights.

Premier league games on a Friday night won't help Super league's positon in the pecking order either

Trailing behind Premier League Darts on a Thursday night in terms of viewing figures will soon be as good as it gets for an increasingly marginalised and irrelevant sport.

Flogging exclusive rights of everything (SL, CC, afterthought internationals) to the ghetto of Sky TV from 2017 to 2021 ought to be sufficient enough to consign full time professional RL to several dustbins dotted alongside the M62.

Hopefully, the whole process shouldn't be too painful.

To be honest the whole Sky Sports schedule around Xmas is different. This year it's just repeats of the Ryder Cup and Lewis Hamiltons 2014 wins and 'Darts Gold' and other repeats of events rather than any full 'reviews of years'

Sadly, it was probably the only deal on the table.
Even sadder is that the game has had ample opportunity and finance to market and promote the game but instead most went to the antipodes and the game got a minimal return at best.
The game FAILED to promote itself, and in its current state is going even further to fail.

It's all the RFL's fault, obviously. Sometimes, a sport gets the success its "fans" deserve.

Well all the fans I know deserve better but what we should have is say ITV showing some games that sky don't show and we would get a lot more interest we can live in hope

Getting SL on FTA TV should be one of the big goals of the RFL. As we have seen in union and soccer in Oz, consign yourself to Pay TV and your relevance drops 100%.
