I posted on the Wigan forum the New Zealand Warriors have flown his mum and Shaun Wanes wife out in a bid to lure Sam over on a $1,000,000 a season contract. They seem to be the front runners right now for Tomkins.

It will be a waste of a NRL career, if he goes to NZ.

Agreed, the unstructured warriors play is the last thing he needs to take his game to the next level.

1mill would make him the best paid player in the NRL, somehow I doubt it, around $6-750k possibly.

Why would it? It did no harm to James Maloney who is a fantastic player.

Not being funny but this season we have seen some of Maloney's best ever form.

He deserves to be in the NSW squad this year he's been outstanding, and I'd agree certainly the best form I've seen from him over the past few seasons.

Nothing. That is my point. If he thought he could win things, he would have stayed and not gone to the Roosters.

I dont think its as a simple as that. Players leave clubs all the time a variety of reasons would be the cause of that rather than a player just thinking he can win things. Maloney had 2 good years at the warriors reaching one Grand Final and then decided to move back to NSW.

It isnt pretty much accepted that even if the Warriors were the #1 side in the competition for them its a lot harder as players dont generally want to go to Auckland. I'm pretty sure they have the backers to pay the wages but players will prefer to stay in NSW and Brisbane than go to NZ.

If Tomkins decided to go the the Warriors or anyone else for that matter it doesnt mean he would be at that one club forever regardless of who it is.

He is certainly within a shout for a spot, and especially seeing how well he and Pearce are playing together, you could argue that it would benefit the Blues to play halves that are use to playing together at club level.

Although on the downside, it will be bad for the Roosters as this year they have to back up all 3 Origin games.
