What do you think is the best structure of SL? Irrespective of whether there is P+R or not!!

I'd have a 28 team super league and a championship 1 headed by Leigh.

10 team SL. There's JUST about 10 teams that can justify the name "super".

I'm just making a point. Every time someone comes up with the idea of SL1 and SL2, its a fan from one of the clubs who stand to get put in a SL2 as if it's some sort of promotion. Well it's not. SL2 will be the championship with another title. Sky are not going to pay for two super leagues the same and the same issues will face teams.

Anyway I don't know why you're having a go you don't want to be in super league anyway.

Like I said in the other thread, Leigh really do deserve better than fans like you who will bail just when they need them the most. We've all threatened to pack it all in when things get bad (emotions always run high amongst fans) but to actually go through with it and then to speak out against the game and club for months after really does take the biscuit.

The problem is I'm not alone, between the current recession and nothing to play for ( thrashing Widnes was always a high point of the season ) attendances are starting to suffer, it no longer excites

My initial contribution to this thread was in the form of humour at your suggestion of keeping your club as far away from playing Leigh as possible, you will notice I havent suggested any permutations or voted on any, I do enjoy the occaisional joust with some on here, but if you read my recent posts you will see a change in their content

Well it fell at the very first hurdle. I don't define my club in relation to leigh, and this thread was not about keeping my club away from them.

As for the rest of your post, you said it yourself, you're not a fan.

10 competitive teams, with very few overseas so we can have at least 8 English players in each position competing for England honours. We can also have 5 games a week that are competitive, unlike the current system where the playing talent is spread between so many teams we are lucky to get 2 quality games a week.

I'd have a 12 team league with the top 4 making the playoffs. I would retain licensing. I wouldn't go back to p&r.

This would increase the quality of the competition (and also the quality of the next tier down).

Having the playoffs as being top 4 would make it much more worthwhile and more of a competition. I think that it's ridiculous that we currently have teams in the bottom half of the table making the playoffs.

The only issue with this would be Sky. The game gets a lot of money from Sky but my system would make the season have fewer rounds and so Sky would be getting less product to air.

A solution to this could be them showing more Championship games, which would also be adding more money into the championship.

SKY have stated they wont pay for Championship RL, and unless you have annual promotion then dropping London and a.n.other down wouldnt make a huge difference to how the Championship is viewed

I have never said I dont want Leigh in SL, I wouldnt want to enter a franchised SL at the moment as we are not ready, annual P and R, no problem, I'd happily take a SL place with that in place

I would have 14 teams with 7 teams in play off with team that finishes 1st straight to grand final and rest put into a draw and play knock-out also have two minimum non British players in every team.

By having minimum of 2 non British players that would even the playing field.

14 teams, 6 play-off places - 2 relegation spots in SL. Promoted teams exempt from relegation for one season.

Winners of Championship promoted. 2-5 play-offs. Play each other home and away legs. Winners are ones who win on aggregate and go through to Grand Final. 1 relegated.

12 teams, winner to GF, the four below play off to decide who meets them. London and Huddersfield to drop out, they bring nothing to the league.

I want a top-flight full-time professional comp made up of as many clubs as can function as full time professional clubs (and that includes affording all the youth development work, with kids on full-time contracts, not just 25 full-time pros in the first team squad and nothing below that).

V interesting. I have always been a firm believer in P&R but this post has got me questioning it.
