| Like i've said before, put a big old advert at Heathrow, all RU fans with England ticket stubs get into the Wembley double header for a tenner.
Then up north, any fan with a club season ticket or England replica gets in for £10 too

Absolutely.
Personaly, I don't expect a ticket for £10, but I would at least like the option of buying a ticket in the lowest price band. Its difficult enough to convince my non-RL mates to come to the Grand Final for £21.

| The way I look at things like this, we'd be reasonably happy with 40k. So what loss is there to get any old tom dick or harry in the spare 50k seats for a small price? I'd have made kids tickets free, right from the start and got into the schools and got them doing coach trips like we used to have in the 90s

| Also, on the RU fans front, I know quite a few fans who have been bored by the RUWC and impressed by the SL GF and also the Wire-Leeds game.
We've got a far better product, but no money. We should let the RU fans see it for a small price.

So, turn this around
Any Wigan fan who turns up in an England RU shirt next year gets into the DW for a fiver... how successful would that be?
We have nearly 62 million people in this country to market our game to... why start with the demographic that is likely to be most hostile?
Rugby Union fans don’t like Rugby League... the sooner we accept this the better

One of my closest freinds is a Bristol lad, brought up with RU and Bristol Rovers. Just from coming to one RL game, in the rain, wind, sleet and snow when Leigh played Salford at Hilton Park (not exactly England v Australia at Wembley) he was sold on the game and now has a season ticket for Leigh and is losing interest in yawnion.
Appeal to inteligent, open minded people like this and you've got a lot of takers.
Any Wigan fan who turns up at the DW in an England RU shirt for £5? How is that in context to what I said?
If an England fan forks out £50 on a replica and turns up to watch England he has paid his dues and as a promo, could get in for a reduced price.

My point is this
Use these boards as an example, there are people who enjoy both codes but the vast majority of RL fans on here wouldn’t be tempted to go to a RU match whatever the promotion. We all think that RL is the best sport on the planet but we have to accept that RU fans love their sport and they are just as unlikely to attend a RL game as we are a RU one
I just feel that when you start marketing a product, the least likely target that you should start with are those that are promoters of a competitive product

It's an interesting arguement.
Maybe i'm coming at it from a 'it's so much better, surely they must realise' point of view.

If you can stretch to £25 there's a special offer on the £45 tickets using the promotion code 4NZOO2 at [url=https://www.eticketing.co.uk/rle/details/event.aspx?itemref=8653rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk[/url think it also works if you phone the RFL ticket office. There's more to marketing than giving things away and cutting prices. All you're doing is devaluing the product.

| What the RFL need to do is start announcing internationals earlier. Promotions need to be centred around getting people to buy tickets earlier.
If they announced the venues at the start of the season, they'd be in the RL Events book given to thousands of people, increasing awareness. If you create ticket deals in a similar way to season passes, it will encourage people to buy earlier which will help build a snow-ball effect. Deals like:
50% off if bought before 30/06/2012
33% off if bought before 31/07/2012
25% off if bought before 31/08/2012
10% off if bought before 30/09/2012

| Things I would like to see (why oh why does RL have such problems with marketing?)
Buy an England RL shirt and get an end seat for 10quid
Family passes for 2 adults and 2 kids just 45 quid in the end seats
Jnr Rl clubs promotion in end seats - buy 10 tickets at 10 quid each and get 5 free, get it sponsored by a coach company who will provide RFL sponsored coaches at a discount rate to the jnr club
There are enough sideline seats at Wembley to sell at premium price and make a profit, use the end seats for promotional stuff to get the place full, especially of families and kids.

I bought 2 tickets for the Wembley double header a couple of months back for a total price of £22 including delivery, so tickets were on sale for £10 if you bought them earlier.

No, you aren't missing anything. I incorrectly assumed I might be able to get a few tickets a month before the event, especially with half the stadium currently empty, but apparently not, my bad!
The point is is that this is hardly encouraging for walkups and people who make a last minute decision to come to the game. Great, well prepared Rugby League fans managed to snare a ticket for £10, but there are little to no options for casual supporters now, as is being discussed on this thread.
Cheers for the link TMWA.

If the offer was still on, it wouldn't be an offer, it'd just be the price.
If people want to take advantage of an offer, they need to do it at the time it's on. However, the RFL need to make people aware of these offers otherwise people don't know. They seem to just come about willy nilly, which is poor marketing.

In the mid 90's the Cougars had two massive coach trip each bringing a thousand kids to internationals at Wembley...
We wanted to attempt another this year , but the fact that the RFL took till the back end of July to announce the ruddy fixtures made organization damn near impossible ...

| Anyone actually know how ticket sales are tracking?
And on the opening of upper tiers, they can open blocks at a time to restrict seated areas and reduce operating costs. It really is pathetic restricting the casual fans options on seating only to find out that you could have bought your tickets at a later date in your preffered areas or find yourself in an ordinary seat at the game looking at thousands of empty ones.
