The game seems to be going through a bit of a crisis with players misbehaving. Ok it has gone on for years but not in such great numbers. I suppose the higher and wider interest of the game puts players in the spotlight much more and other sports (even golf) have just as much or more player related issues. I would even go as far as to say that RL clubs do probably take more action against these players than other sports and I can only see this being even stricter if the RFL get involved.

I don't like the idea of suspending players though, unless they've done something that makes that untennable. For example trying to hurt one of your own players in training or passing information to other teams.

I think in most cases a better course of action is for them to repay their sins through their performances. An example is Scott Moore who is playing outstandingly well for Saints. If any sanctions against them are required, make them financial or community based. So a fine or increased community work instead of suspending them from the team. That seems to punish their fellow players who are more likely to lose and the fans who are going to be short changed by half the team being out.

No sur[prise with Tansey, the lad just doesn't know when he's on to a good thing, he's an average player that has misbehaved at every club he's been at and when given another chance he blows it again. i hope he never gets a chance at another club again, cockayne is in the same boat. they deserve the chances they get

Tansey seems a massive waste of talent to me. The try he scored the other week (Against Catalans maybe?) was sensational.

Agreed, Tansey is far more than an average player. Unfortunately he has a less than average attitude towards his profession.

Agreed, but this is Iestyn Harris we're talking about. The Welsh McNamara. When Crusaders are smashed by 70 at the weekend I fully expect him to blame outside factors yet again.

What sort of message does that send out to other players who abide by they rules? I've said my piece before. If you are sacked by your club for alcohol related issues then the RFL should suspend that player from playing for a year and send them to youngsters teaching them about alcohol. To be sacked by your club you will have had to break 3 or 4 chances.

It's becoming a serious problem and we are heading for where the NRL were last year. Glad to see Tansey's taken his 5th chance well.

Im just wondering what has happened? They have refused to comment on this which i think is strange. If i was a Crusaders fan i would want to know what has happened. As rich86 said, who are they punishing more the players or fans?

Probably but there are a considerable amount of others in competition I would suggest.

As a % of the sport the number will be low but as for Mo & Ron Ball's game, the question is how many are the brightest then that number WILL be low!!!

I think that everyone knows that Tansey is an idiot and I think that he'll eventually come to regret the oppotunities he's wasted.

He's a talented player, but after warnings and chances by Hull he was eventually sacked for a 3rd or so) breach of the code of conduct, ended up playing in the lower leagues for a while, was given a chance by Crusaders and has gotten himself suspended again! Silly boy.

Unless the RFL suspend the likes of Tansey, he'll have as many chances as there are mediocre SL teams that he hasn't yet played for.

Sammutt seems to be saying it as if the club really frown upon players having fun outside of the club no matter the occasion or time.

It is clear however he isn't massive on Iestyn Harris.

Not looking good for Crusaders at all. Player unrest, ill-discipline, bottom of the table etc. etc.

They need this season to end and get properly sorted out for 2012
