I just thought I'd get it in before the predictable onslaught after seeing the attendance following tonights game.

It was a ridiculous attenedance, might I say.

When did attendances and performances on the field count for anything? They have a new stadium on the way and have the potential to attract all of Manchester haven't they?

It should be pointed out that for a relatively minor sport, and a team from that sport that arnt doing particulary well, and with a Manchester football cup semi final derby on at the same time, its not an outrageous attendance, but its a stupid time and day to hold it!

Sanit Simon's partly right, but our attendances will only pick up when we perform consistently.

There are no excuses for attendances like that.

There are a few who don't deserve a franchise although I think Salford have a stronger case than most but sadly its mainly based on the new ground.

So maybe it should be Widnes in, and 2 or 3 out with a 12 or 13 team SL...............

this 'its the FA cup semi final today' excuse for a lower than what might be expected crowd is a load of horsecrap. any true salford supporter who really gave a stuff would still watch salford. I support Liverpool FC, but if Widnes are playing the same day there is no contest, im watching Widnes every time.
im sure the same is true for the overwhelming majority of true supporters of rugby league teams.
everyone doesnt suddenly stop going to widnes games just because there is a big football match on. and widnes is full of mancs, scousers and evertonians.
i doubt very much widnes is unique.

Surely Salford wouldn't have planned to play there game at roughly the same time as the areas biggest sporting event for a number of years

you are from widnes, so support widnes first and football second. Most Salford fans will be football fans first and rugby fans second, the timing of this game was a disgrace

well then the only reasonable conclusion to draw is that the people of salford have lost all capacity for reason

In answer to the title of the thread , correct they don't but they will get one , and we'll let you off today about the attendance because of mitigating circumstances beyond you control , but don't let it happen again

Barton will be full to capacity in a few years as old trafford will be half empty as city will have taken over the football kings of the area!
