Good riddance. Yet another failed Rugby League player transfers to the lesser code for more money along with fat face Ashton and that lad who wasn't good enough for Salford and Widnes.

Let's not kid outselves. He's a hell of a player, as is Ashton, and as was Farrell. They're a loss to rugby league. However, perhaps the only real impact is in terms of England RL. In terms of club rugby, we'll get by just as well.

Is he really "a hell of a player" or a young lad who has had some success, and has a good deal of potential which Staedler and Waldorf have translated into him already being some kind of superstar? IMO he's already decent, could have gone on to be very good, but is also quiet injury prone.

I don't see him being a roaring success at Union just because he has a passing resemblence to Billy Whizz. He hasn't got the durability to play scrum half, the kicking game to play 10, the physicality to play centre of the size to play in the back 3. Where will he play?

No I wouldn't. In the CC he'd get smashed in the first minute. He got worked out within a year, hit him hard and youre playing a team without a 7. If he was that good the NRL would be sniffing about. He's crap at League, which makes him a Union international.

you can slag the likes of ashton & eastmond all you like.....but at the end of the day chris ashton is the fullback england RL badly needs and kyle is a unbelievable talent who did cause problems for australia & NZ in the 4nations in 2009....

I'm afraid I disagree about Ashton. He is a perfectly reasonable SL standard back but nothing special at all. Eastmond has raw talent like Robinson before him and will be missed, however.

Ashton is a winger and finishes scores of (Raw speed)-he hasnt got the brains to be a 15 even in a dour game like union
