I don't think for one minute it was a penalty, I mean how could Donald stop himself connecting with Richards at that speed.

Alibert should have stuck with his original call and the scrum to Leeds on the their own 40m instead of letting James Roby escalate the situation.

Anyhow it was a fair result in the end, with Leeds having too much go forward in the second half, helped by Wigan errors.

I fancy Hull KR to beat them on Friday too because Wigan now only have a four day turnaround.

Please explain by what means Donald could have broken several laws of physics to stop himself mid-air after Richards kicked the ball? It was a perfectly fair attempt and did not deserve a penalty. Maguire should have been penalised for holding back Carmont, ten yards further back.

Nothing wrong with the tackle on Richards , however if McGuire hadn't tackled Carmont off the ball , he might have had another option than to kick it , also Donald might well not have attempted the tackle if Richards had another option inside him

So it would have been a kick to touch and a chance to level the game up at 27-27 through a drop-goal from around 30m out.

Saints and Leeds should get some sort of reward for winning. At least we're not copying Australia as then Wigan would be away to us as well, which even I would think would be daft.

A home tie against the team finishing 4th seems like a benefit to me. Don't blame the system if Wigan failed to take advantage of that.

I'm not as such but I feel that it's harsh on the side that finish top after 27 rounds to now be playing away for the right to get to Old Trafford.

IMO we should go back to the top six.

If we're going to do a top 8, at least use a system that gives lots of different potential matches instead of repeating the same ones, and use the McIntyre system the NRL use.

If we had stronger teams from fifth to eighth I'd be inclined to agree with you. Perhaps this weekend's games will prove that the Giants and Rovers are strong enough but from what I saw this weekend I can't see either giving too much trouble to Wigoon or Wire.

Im saying lets go for the NRL system, but the system we use is actually the evolution of that. The problem with the NRL system would be that if 1st place loses in week one... youre playing away after that full stop

If 1st loses at home to 8th, with the standard of teams in England, they deserve to have to play away from home.
