If results go the way they are expected to this weekend Souths are in danger of dropping out of the 8

I've always had a soft spot for Souths, they have always been my second team. I've even got a Souths jumper in my wardrobe back home. South Sydney are a fantastic club and a real legendary name in world Rugby League football.

Barry McKenzie has always said Rusty should NEVER have signed little pommie Sam. Quite simply... the guy is not up to playing NRL footy.

Well and truly out of his depth and gave away penalty after penalty against St Choke... poor effort. Very poor.

And now as the season enters the final stretch signing him might just come back and bite Rustys ar se.

I'm all for NRL clubs helping developing nations out by giving them a chance to develop themselves... but WHY did it have to be Souths who signed Burgess??

They looked lost without him in the last 10. Poor subbing by Lang, when they needed true class to win the game for them he was sat on the bench.

Lang is yesterday's man - should never have got the job in the first place.

Souths dont have the mental toughness to see games through. Look at the Warriors in the two last games and their fantastic efforts in defence to win tight matches.

Souths are complaining about a couple of decisions in Fridays game that went against them. Well the same thing happened to the Warriors today against Melbourne. Difference is they didnt look for excuses and rose to the challenge.

Souths have a lot going for them but they look like they are going to come up short unless their mentality changes.

Until they get a half back that can capitalise on the field position their outstadning pack affords them they will never win anything. The last play otions in the Dragons half were amateurish. John Sutton makes Paul Cooke look consistent!

Langs use of the bench is bizarre to say the least.

Burgess is not out of his depth in the NRL, would be the first name on the team sheet at pretty much any club in the NRL/Superleague and will be named in the NRL team of the season (or whatever it's called).
The main difference between Australia and GB over the last god knows how many years has not been the pack......it's in the backs where the Australians rip it up.......British forwards, for the most, are not that bad.

Still, you carry on winding people up......just try to be a little more subtle in future.

The last true world class centres we had was probably Paul Newlove and Gary Connolly(Judas) since then we have had half decent ones like Martin Gleeson and Keith Senior.
The ones we have got at the moment are nowhere near good enough the likes of Atkins,Bridge,Shenton decent superleague players but that is about it.

only thing holding sl and english rl back from getting over australia is their lack of backs like inglis, slater, hayne and co.

It'll happen one day though.
