I'm told that one of the Aussie journalists involved was doing his best to wind up Goulding before the alleged incidents occurred. Maybe not the smartest course of action.

As sad as this sounds, said Aussie journo would merely be doing his job in trying to get a reaction and quote out of Goulding.

Which is why I'm thinking of going into PR instead of 'hard-hitting' journalism after my degree is over.

It all just sounds like high spirits to me. I'm sure the kidney punches were only playful.

Whether or not Bobby has been responsible for the French's encouraging displays is debatable to say the least.

With Catalans now an established SL team the French should have naturally progressed over the last few years regardless of who coaches them for a few weeks a year.

It was a strange decision to appoint him, but he looked like coming out of the 4 nations with a bit of credit, he appears to have ruined that.

I'd be very interested how much Bobby gets paid for the French job which I'm sure is a fantastic lifestyle. Much less than he was on at Rochdale before he got sacked I would presume.

It appears Bobby i will never change despite been handed this fantastic opportunity.

My understanding is that Bobby was very threatening as he got drunker all night. He then barged into a lift after midnight and tried to hit the aussie journalist who had barely spoken to him all night. I've always liked Bobby's spirit, but from a distance. Close up, he's still not grown up. I'm a woolly liberal when it comes to giving second chances, but there has to be some remorse about the behaviour in the first place. Unless he profusely apologises and agrees to stay off the drink, it's time to say thanks but no thanks to Bobby.

My sister asked me last season, "Do you know who Bobby Goulding is?" after he ran onto the pitch during her grandson's match in Widnes. He'll never change and should be dismissed.
