England A against the french, in a city that doesnt care about RL. The crowd will be massive!

Who cares about the crowd size? That will be the least important thing about the match. It will be televised and watched by BBC viewers in the UK and broadcast in France. Played in the capital it will get national media attention, not just the Southern papers. Sure, won't be a big crowd but, unless we need the gate money to make ends meet, that should not be an issue.

Having a decent crowd does a couple of things.
Helps pay the bill
Lends credibility to the code.
May even make the players feel that there is atmosphere and some bugger cares enough to turn up.

First I have heard about it. But I have stopped reading League Express and rely on The Times and the BBC website for my daily RL coverage.

They might show highlights on the Super League Show, but that's about it. But this game is an indication of exactly why international RL is never likely to be taken seriously in it's current format.

The BBC promised one game a season, not the mid-season game only. Sounds like they have a 4N match and no wonder

according to a passing comment in the 'England TV' interview with Michael Shenton on the Superleague site, it's being played at "a sold-out Jean Bouin stadium"

I fail to see how a stadium of 12,000 in a city of 2,000,000+ cannot be filled for any rugby event.

Well its not a bad crowd considering half the city has probably never even heard of the sport. Can see some stade colours / shirts in the crowd good to expose the sport to newcomers.

just give out tickets if you have to but just fill it at least.
