In the 8x8x8 model where would they fit in, and who would go to fit them in?

In the 8x8x8 model it's not so much about where they would fit in, it's about whether they could stay in.

If they join SL in 2015 and we go to 8x8x8. They could be in SL2 (or what ever we call it by 2016. Is there even a need for them to apply? If they went into SL2, they could work their way up like everyone else????

I still think London can make a go of it, if they find a place and stick with it. They may struggle this year, but so may a few teams. I can see it being a tight top 5-6 with a tight 10-14. With a mighty big gap in the middle.

We've been told a million times that there are business people just waiting for the opportunity to pumps millions into the club to make it fully professional,this new system shouldn't hinder that in the slightest.

The World Cup was a massive success. To build on that we need to make the Four Nations a competitive competition and the best way to help the French is to have Toulouse in Super League.
Was interesting that when Catalans played their on the road game in Toulouse it attracted a crowd in the region of 15k. SL needs a club that can attract that kind of support which would make it financially sustainable.
Of all the clubs wanting a place in SL Toulouse offer the most by a very long way.
I hope they are successful for 2015.

My understanding is that if Toulouse get a TV deal they will start in tier 2 of the new system.

Tell you what, let's get another 3 teams from France in SL, then they'll ram their teams full of Aussies (like Catalans used to) and hey presto....SUCCESS !!!

Actually, the best way to help the French is to bang a few heads together over there and get the often mentioned elite PROFESSIONAL competition complete with whopper TV deal sorted out. Adding another French side to SL will do little to assist France at an international level....remind me again how Catalans have boosted them over the last 8 seasons

They really showed us how far they've come at the RLWC 2013 where they scored 3 tries over 4 games whilst shipping 112 points against.




Wellington got close to 30k for the warriors OTR game last year....we'd do well to average 30% of that in the NRL. OTR games are not a good indicator of long term development....if they were we'd have a SL team in Leicester.


How so? Catalans are a great addition to the comp but they have delivered little to SL other than a warm weather away trip for fans and added expense for teams......Toulouse need to work their way into the competition, just like everyone else will have to.

If they are it is further proof that the RFL is run by gobes!

A strong Toulouse to eventually rival Catalans will be a great boost for French RL. As i see it, a potential of a french derby (of sorts) would massively increase the interest of the game in France. Given time, other teams could grow and a real French league which Catalans and Toulouse could be part of, leaving SL. But still being part of the Challenge cup competitions. All of this is many moons away though

Notwithstanding their recent media release, Toulouse are actually asking to be admitted direct to the new "Super League 2" with effect from it's inaugural season, 2015.

Whatever name it is given, it isnt going to be ' super ' ,the one we currently have can barely make that claim

So we all keep getting told in a "DON'T ARGUE WITH THE MANTRA" kind of way.

A team in a large French rugby city that has a booming economy, nah!!!!

What we need is a team from Yorkshire, that owes the bank a million quid and has 3k fans. We don't have enough of them!

If they're well funded, have a decent following, can throw together a competitive team and they have a long term plan they're already be better than half of SL.
