I love it when teams’ games plans are to just try and rough us up. It means we are guaranteed a win. It just doesn’t work and Salford are better than that

I don’t think they are better than that, had a lot of shifting about in the off season and brought in a few of those grubby players who scream their BARLA tactics and try picking fights with the likes of Lomax and Fages.

They were tipped to finish bottom by one of the RL papers recently and was genuinely surprised to see that but starting to see why, you boys could’ve had 3-4 more easily tonight and the score line has flattered Salford.

They’ll probably do a little better against my beloved Wakefield and the teams that end of the table but they’ve some real work to do in these next few weeks to compete with anyone further up the table.

That said Elijah Taylor looks to be a workhorse, 31 years old but wouldn’t be surprised to see him at somewhere like Huddersfield next year.

Agreed. Sarginson looked like a breath of fresh air at fullback, different style of play to typical fullback in the game.

Livett, Addy, Ryan Lannon, Oliver Roberts... the list goes on. All have their CV flattered by signing for a SL outfit. Championship at best for me.

Didn’t expect much more than that, Salford did well enough to hang in there but never looked like doing anything once Saints knocked it up a gear.

Not too downhearted by that. Some dumb errors from us (Salford) and Inu had an absolute shocker.

Throw in a high penalty count and some really soft tries and you're not gonna beat the best team in the league. We had 10(?) new signings playing tonight and the likes of Taylor and Livett showed up really well. Our defence was pretty decent and the pack will be competitive.

And please stop being a big tart about dirty/grubby tactics. Saints gave more than they got and there are plenty of teams in the league who are grubbier than us. You won't get many harder working teams than Salford in SL this season.

I don't expect us to pull up any trees for the first 5/6 weeks until our players get used to each other but we'll be more than fine.

I know who you’re referring to but no, nothing to do with them users. I am a Wakefield fan. I think you’ve read my posts as if I was someone you’ve had previous disagreements and taken a disliking to me as I really don’t think I’ve said much wrong.

The facts are you do have a number of players in your side that have lingered around the bottom of SL, championship or sat out on loan for the majority of their careers. A number of those players are deemed as grubby imo...

You boys didn’t have a bad first half but the class showed in the second half for Saints and just a little note to hopefully prove I’m not trolling, I don’t think we (Wakefield) would’ve done any better, probably worse.

Very similar to your last comment and to reiterate what I’ve already said, you have a few weeks ahead where you’ve got some work/gelling to do otherwise it could be a tough year.

Let’s hope Leigh’s defence hold up because they can definitely go forward with the ball. Could be an interesting game this!
