| Much to my surprise it barely registered that there wasn’t a crowd in the stadium. Once or twice I forced myself to think about it but when there was action on the pitch my viewing wasn’t affected in the least.
The piped crown noise really worked imho so for me I really didn’t think the game lost anything. This is a hard admission for one who loves love sport.
Makes you wonder what the future holds. If fan free sport was forced to continue it would only get better. The use of GGI could easily create virtual stadium backdrops with realistic crowds.
This could really happen it’s not a fantasy. We’d certainly benefit, we have a good pitch already and with no need to develop BV it’s a win for us.
In all honesty I hope and think it won’t happen but you have to admit that in the last few month it’s nowhere near as implausible as it once seemed.
Strange times.

True but it didn’t seem to affect them. Sure we didn’t play well but we sometimes don’t play well in front of a packed house. I don’t think it made any difference once the game started. Not what I expected but hey.

Of all of the sports played behind closed doors, I think that Sky should be applauded for their RL coverage.
It's clearly not as absorbing as playing in front of 1000's of real fans but, the "soundtrack" that has accompanied the various games of RL has masked the absence of spectators quite well..
This is all well and good for the armchair fans but, it's a long, long way from making up for being there.
The social is just as important as the game for me and I just hope that fans will be able to return in some form.
Not to mention how critical it is for all clubs to have the added revenue that we bring.
Having said that, if it's what we have now or nothing, Id take what we have

| I didn't notice my cardboard cut out in the "crowd" but I'll assume I was there.
Just happy to be watching us play again, even if it was a little frustrating to get pipped by a point.

Indeed. I think the commentary team needs an overhaul. Whoever did the Salford/Hull game was not good I’m afraid.

It also has the advantage of not containing some of the cringworthy chanting that emanates from our North Stand and all other grounds.

I noticed when Kyle Wood scored, he was walking back with a camera shot showing the name Josh Wood, somethings never change with Sky.

| What I didn’t notice, was the ball on or over the Trinity try line, when Wigan were awarded their last try. Any one else on here think the referee got this wrong. Just watched it again on Trinity Tv, convinced the ref was wrong.

I’m afraid it’s just bad luck k. Thaler is the only ref who possibly favours us but once he’d made the call then it was bound to go that way.
It’s a flaw, I mean logically he should always signal a no try if it’s going to the VR. If he is actually sure enough to signal a try it is a try. It should alway be a no try and then if the VR can’t decide then the ref should go with his original but silent first impression. As it was it was almost impossible for him to backtrack as it was a 50/50 he’d already given,

Nice thought, unfortunately the only way to stop that is to turn the sound down, was never too keen on Bill Arthurs but that Proes and the one what commentates on darts makes him look an half decent commentator.

| I'm not a fan, actually. Watching the NRL when there were no crowds, what I enjoyed was the thuds and the whacks and the hits. The fake crowd noise was more muted and only ever there when there was an attack on a line or something. I find the UK version distracting and annoying. Not as good as real crowd noise and not as good as hearing the hits.

But the NRL games have all had a sound track or the ones I’ve seen have, turn your hearing aid up!

| I saw more reaction and activity from "the crowd" at Headingley than the average match day at the John Smiths Stadium.

I know that. I meant I just thought it was better done for the NRL and you still had the sound of the hits. We have it done less well but without the hits.
Not slating the coverage because I thought the same about the football. I think it's a Sky thing, not a super league thing.

I did laugh when a chant of Sneyyyyyddddd!! came up when Salford were in possession. Not perfect, but it seems to work better than the piped stadium crowd noise in football.

Not hearing the out of tune band at Headingley enhanced my viewing experience.

| Instead of importing Jenna Brooks Sky should have gone for Vossy, the best commentator in the game!!
They should also use a more analytical type of summariser/co-commentator than the jokey old boys act we see now - think who you'd rather listen to...Brandy Alexander, Braith Anasta, Steve Roach or Terry & Baz
Like little wayne69 suggests, I always have the volume turned down when watching as they wind me up so much by telling me about what I've just watched...it's worse than 'coming up' and 'previously' recaps either side of an ad break on TV

I don’t think many would argue but what possible package could you put together to entice him over here? I can’t see any reason for him to move unless you trebled his salary and even then.
