| That club is a one way ticket to career suicide imo.
Wane might sort out the culture issues, but the cards are stacked against them with all the travel. You only need to look at them since the restart to see what a difference no traveling has made to them.

Agree, but if he's serious about being an NRL coach this might be the only chance he gets.

| So does this mean he’ll resign also as England head coach (provided he gets it)? IMO the England role should be FT and not PT.

If that's the case then I honestly think that I'd rather not be an NRL head coach.
It's kinda like Tomkins who, imo, did alright in the NRL. He'll always be regarded by some however as an NRL flop & 90% of that is down to him going to NZ and not a team in Oz.
If Wane does the right thing at NZ cards are just too stacked to make it look like a success.

They've lost by 50 to Melbourne, been nilled and threw away a 12 point lead today against the Titans. They're no different to normal in all honesty.

| He’ll not get an NRL job at a club in anything other than dire straights sadly because they’ll just not value the work he’s done in his career to date. I’ve posted myself on social media stories I’ve seen about him being on this shortlist and said to the Kiwi/Aussie fans on there that they’d be getting an amazing coach and how he’s comfortably the best on the list but all I hear is them saying guys like Nathan Brown should get it. I don’t think the NRL clubs or the fans realise what a good coach is sat there desperate for a job down under.

Waney is tailor made for NZ Warriors
He’ll sort out the shoite in the club and get the players believing in themselves.
Perfect coach for a club and players who need a proper steer

I just hope the powers that be at the Warriors are aware of that because from what I read from supporters, they don’t know him from Adam. They’ll miss a great opportunity if they don’t get him IMO.

Exactly, there'll be no turning up for training late or unprepared. They'll be in for a BIG cultural shock.

It’s a match made in heaven for me. They need somebody to make the place more professional and to stop the excuse culture they seem to have. The Kiwi lads are so naturally gifted but the mindset and culture needs work. He would be the perfect man and he deserves a go. I’d be made up to see him get an NRL job. I want him back here but can’t see that as a realistic option in the short term.

As you say Waney and NZ Warriors is a perfect fit if the owners have got the bollacks to finally sort out their culture which is weak and t times pretty pathetic
He will sort the egos in double quick time and insert some much needed discipline

| Always been oddballs, the NZ players. They'd come over with phenomenal looking tour parties but then give indifferent performances. That wasn't the story every time, but I saw Wigan beat their first 13 at least twice. Down Under meanwhile, they'd always be much more formidable.
It's surely a mindset issue, and while Waney isn't looking at coaching their international team, he'd still have plenty of their top men to go at with the Warriors. I think it's ideal for a guy like him, but whether they'd respond to an old-fashioned type Brit is another matter.

The rewarding time Holbrook is currently having with GCT makes me wonder what standard the rest of SL actually was when his St Helens team romped to the title.

Holbrook is doing very well with the Titans. Whilst the NRL is clearly a much higher standard than SL across the board, its not this league of supermen that some like to promote. There are some very average teams and the standard recently has been so inconsistent. There are some sensational games (e.g. Melbourne v Sydney) but the ones I saw at the weekend (Canterbury v Brisbane and Canberra v Melbourne) were really poor.

| In Holbrooks defence he's inherited a poor team. They have some decent plays like Ash Taylor, their hooker, Jarrod Wallace etc but they've no fullback.

It’ll take time but the early signs are pretty good I think for Holbrook. They lose Arrow next year but they’ve signed the young forward from Melbourne and they announced Herman Ese,ese for next year today. It sounds like they’ve plenty of room to make other moves as well going off their bid for Fafita Jnr. He’s a cracking coach Holbrook but even a top coach will take tome to turn a side like Gold Coast around.
I personally think he should take a couple of Saints players over. Walmsley and Lomax will do ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif)

I wouldn't be surprised to see Regan Grace go there.
