Joe has had rotten luck while he's been here, and I think Rocky himself, as well as the fans, was looking forward to getting some game time in the halves, in his natural position

Yeah I noticed that too. Makes the first yellow card even more bizarre when put into perspective, although Holmes (?) did milk it by flopping to the ground like a dead cow. |

This. The TV showed slow motion replays of the incident and if the big screen had been available then I'm sure that dangerous leg entanglement tackle would have at least put on report. He deliberately attacked the standing leg and if he'd hit the standing leg around the knee with his shoulder whilst Arundel unable to defend himself as being tackled in a stationary position by another player the ref would have taken action. As it is no action taken and a player loses a year of what is already a relatively short playing career. Hope he makes a full recovery. |

Don't know how many black cats have been run over but it must be a few now! Gotta feel for Joe especially, never really lets us down, now basically 2 consecutive seasons out, all the best Joe, & Rocky too. I think we have had now 6 players injured since Boxing day! If Walker plays at Salford, that will be 3 different full-backs, and 3 different half-back parings and it will only be the 4th game!

There was a screen available to the ref. It was in the 1st floor restaurant and from where we were stood we could see them reviewing incidents through the window. |

Gutted for both players. I really rate Arundel, he has never let anyone down while playing and feel his defensive and physical presence is great in the team whilst also scoring a few tries along the way. Feel like Rocky was controlling the game well and his short kicking game was looking good against Cas up until his injury. For him to finish off the game with a fractured mandible just shows that some people are cut from a different cloth, proper nails is that.

So it looks like he did some damage in the first tackle he stayed down from and then finished it off in the later one.
I'm struggling to see anything really obviously dangerous or see a likely cause in either tbh.
The TJ one is plain to see but Joe's didn't look out of place in any game, but I guess when you've got a load of big blokes hanging on you in a tackle while you're trying to make progress it puts an extraordinary pressure on joints.
I don't see any obvious conduct or technique intended to cause injury to Joe's knee.
Sickner for Joe for sure, speedy recovery Joe, not great for the team either but we're in a hellish run of season ending injuries to excellent players, it is what it is. |

Can't be anything but gutted for Arundel - he has terrible luck with injuries. From a team perspective, he's a big loss, as he's probably the best technical centre in the squad.
Rocky just epitomises how tough these lads are - to play half a game with a broken jaw is significantly above and beyond the call of duty; I hope he has a full and speedy recovery.

Escare is still languishing in our reserves with little chance of coming back. Would you take him on loan again after his performances for you last season. From what I hear he did quite well. |

Behave  He had a couple of good games but a liability in defence and not as good as Rocky or Walker (based on last years form) |
