It's to be hoped we win this warm up game.
I can 't remember the last time we won one.
I know the idea is to warm up, but it is also to win!

Without Beryl, it is tough against any decent opposition and the sooner he returns the better.
I do hope he doesn't miss league games ...these things have a way of dragging on and he has to be ready and right first.

Forget the rose tinted specs ...we were under the pump for the first 20 mins and almost all the second half against Sheffield.
They bust us up the middle 2 or three times in the first half, which is a bad sign.
Unless Peltier and Horne were on we had no go forward.
Rangi was the man trying to make us tick and he did a great job at times.

I remember a great try between Rangi and Watson, a couple of scurrying other tries and some good effort and heroic tackling.
But we were under the pump and having to tackle most of the game.
Not good enough.
We couldn't push them back and that is our main problem along with ruck speed which our coach is always using as a reason for any failure.

At the Fans Panel Meeting on Tuesday, Carl mentioned that work commitments were likely to affect the squad for Friday's game. I would assume this is why some players aren't included.

According to the Free Press, which like me is never wrong, some first teamers might be in their 'reserve' side.
So get ready ...

Wakefield played last night and had 3 carried off

They have 10 first teamers out & are looking at recruitment so may not risk anymore more 1st teamers .

Mose Masoe got injured against them.

The latter is currently back in Australia but is expected to return in a week or so.

Much like me then. Due to work commitments I will not be able to make it

Can't answer that Adam, but a fully fit rampaging Brad England is vital this year IMO.

Looked bad at first , ankle injury .

A sprained ankle was reported & he looked a lot happier at the end of the game .
Boyle & Smeaton missing , Pete Green drafted in .

KL posted on the Fans Cleggbook page that he had gone to A & E and would update that page with the injury update. Fingers crossed its not too serious.

This also posted on there - Brad England Sorry to fans tonight probably shouldn’t of played with a rib injury ran it in half hearted and twisted my ankle, but it’s just a sprain and will be ok for season.

Keiran Lawton was holding his arm close to his body at the end of play.

The Brad England incident came about in strange circumstances. A Wakey player went down holding his head. Brad went down holding his leg as they came together in a tackle. I presume the head made contact with the leg. The leg seemed to come off worst as the Wakey man was okay after some treatment.

Hopefully, the leg injury won't be too serious but Brad had to be helped off the pitch as he couldn't put his foot to the ground.

Good news about Brad .
Like the looks of the trialists last night , hope Lawton hasnt suffered a break.

I agree. All the trialists looked good. Apart from the injuries, last night was a good workout and should have helped build some confidence.

Also agree we need a fully fit Brad England as he is a key man for us.

I was also impressed by Brad Foster and Brandan Wilkinson. Jason Tali got Man Of The Match. He looked dangerous every time he ran onto the ball with pace.
