| Papua-New Guinea lost narrowly to the powerful Fijian Bati team 22-20 earlier today.
In its match against Great Britain, to be played in Port Moresby, Papua-New Guinea will have the talents of some real stars in Justin Olam (Melbourne), Alexander Johnston (South Sydney), Edene Gebbie (South Sydney), Rhyse Martin (Leeds), and possibly David Mead (Catalans) to choose from.
It is going to be no walkover, and not even a guaranteed win, for Great Britain next weekend, given the injuries the Wayne Bennett coached team has suffered.

| Don't forget the formidable Gary Lo who scored a try in every super league game he played for Castleford Tigers in 2018 but is now playing in France because of "other reasons".

Garry Lo may not be playing, because of the great back line talent that Papua-New Guinea has available at this time.
If David Mead plays then I would expect the PNG outside backs to totally outplay the British outside backs.
It is a pity that star PNG hooker James Segeyaro cannot play, because of a ban by the NRL following the results of a drug test recently.

It’s not a pity when a professional sportsman cannot play because he’s taken drugs.

It is a pity that he ingested the drugs, and subsequently was caught, and forced to stand down from playing rugby league indefinitely.

| They should play Coote at fullback, why you'd pick him and not play him is beyond me. He's the best fullback in Super League and is comfortably the best in that squad.
Play Lomax 6 and Trueman 7. Play Connor and Jones in the centres and Handley and McGilvray on the wings. Play Clark at 9 and drop Chris Hill from the team and retire him.

| I think Bennett (in his final game in charge of England & GB) should ring the changes. anybody who is in the squad, but yet to play, give them a game. Nothing to lose, apart from a 4-0 whitewash !

When you put it like that it seems obvious which way to go.
Obviously agent Bennett will have other ideas.

| PNG are very hard to beat in PNG.
I don't think they are ready to beat GB yet, but they'll give a very good account of themselves.

The players I mentioned in my opening post are all attacking threats.
Edene Gebbie is a sensational new talent who will be playing full back or wing with South Sydney next season. Watch his try in the second half against Fiji:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61A7G88vTd8
If the very talented Nene Macdonald, who is now not playing because of an off field incident, could overcome his mental health problems, and rejoin the NRL, then PNG would have one of the best set of outside backs in the world:
[iDavid Mead
Alexander Johnston. Justin Olam, Nene Macdonald, Edene Gebbie[/i.

In order to bring to bear the combined power of Wales (Benjamin Flower, Regan Grace, Elliot Kear, Rhys Williams, Gilbert Dudson), and Scotland (Lachlan Coote, Daniel Brough, Ryan Brierley, Alexander Walker, Daniel Addy), and Ireland (Tyrone McCarthy, Joseph Keyes) with that of England, and thereby overwhelm the opponents with passion as well as skill.

I would be asking James Graham to retire from international RL too. Lost his impact, and his desire to be a ball handler reduces the space Hastings and the other halves have to work in

Your concern about George Burgess is dumbfounding. George Burgess was not selected in the Great Britain team.

| I'd give a game to the squad members that have not featured. If anything, the three defeats so far have told us one thing, and that is the GB current coach's best team isn't good enough. Time to use this fixture as an opportunity to give others some international experience, with a view to the 2021 world cup. There's nothing to lose - should we get beat to PNG, so what, it's not that important.
