Salfords back are absolute class this year. Evalds, Hastings, Inu and so on.... Their forwards may not be full of top names but they are playing so good this year that's what has pushed them to where they are.

Most of the players at Salford have played at other SL or NRL clubs.
Most are signed to SL clubs for 2020.
His comments are therefore ridiculous.

I don't actually think he's far wrong, Salford have had an amazing season as a whole but I just don't think you can deny that on paper and removing "[ucurrent[/u" form a lot of the players are bang average and remove them from their current set up I think this would show.

I've said elsewhere that Watson deserves all the accolades because he has turned previously bang average players into good players. But even I wouldn't have said they are Championship level. Lower SL maybe.

Lower super league is a more apt description.
Put Hastings in any team and they'd improve.
Get Watson coaching them and they have a team that can challenge.

Whilst Watson is a cracking coach the players deserve massive credit for buying into his vision. I also find it amusing that Toronto players are all SL players playing in the Championship yet Salford players are the opposite?



The fact is that Salford are a perfect example of a TEAM. Some superstars , some grafters (with ability), some promising younger players, some *cast-offs", some "projects". Most of them had something to prove when Watto & Blease brought them in and boy have they done that. Throw a young, intelligent, ambitious coach into that mix and you've got potential dynamite.

The attention that Phil Clarkdouze's occasional controversial comment attracts only reflects how dull the other 99% of his output is.
