| That is, stars from their academy. Obviously Wigan and Saints are untouchable when it comes to what they produce in the league. But where would everyone else place?

To be fair, Julie Burgess' uterous has produced more elite talent than many of our "hotbed" clubs in recent years.

This is true ha ha.
The idea that Wakefield and Huddersfield don’t produce many players from their academies because other clubs “steal” their players is a bit of a misnomer. When you consider Bradford continue to produce more quality players than both clubs put together.

| The Wakefield Service Area produce far more than Bulls. How many amateur clubs are there in Bradford? 3? 4?
In the Bulls glory days, their academy was stacked with Normanton players.

Why then is Wakefield trinity’s academy success rate so embarrassingly poor then?

| I know but he's a Hudds academy 'star', isn't that what the post is about? all SL academy players have come from somewhere, does he mean who become stars for the Academy they sign for or for the SL club they represent?
I've known loads of academy 'stars' who've never played a 1st team game and are now lost to the game completely.

| Because clubs like Wigan, Warrington, Hudds, HKR and Bulls keep going out of area to snap them up...that's the premise of thread isn't it!
I'm not sure Wakey's academy is so weak either. They're doing ok, certainly much improved and the Cat 3 section just did the double - League and Cup.

No it’s about ranking sl clubs on their academies and you started this whinge about other clubs “stealing” your players.
I’m saying that’s garbage. Btw Bradford are in league one so if that’s the case your academy really isn’t an attractive option.
Nice one! Next season there’ll be more Bradford academy products in the NRL (none of which came from the Wakefield service area) than there will be Wakefield academy products in the Wakefield first team.

You just get dumber. Wakefield’s service area has kept Bradford going since time began. A huge percentage of SL and Championship players come from either the Wakefield district or the Wakefield, castleford and Fev academies far more than Bradford has ever managed you utter fool.

| Making a valid point is not a whinge. Grow up.
Ranking academies is easy - just look at the table...but what do you want to measure? League position, number of players advancing to your first team, number of players supplied to the pro game?
You knicked the Burgii from Dewsbury, Langley & Smith from Wakefield, Bateman from Leeds...the list is endless.
Just which Bradford born players are in SL right now? And which came through your academy?

We currently have the following academy products playing in our team.
Kyle Wood
Tom Johnstone
Max Jowitt
Chris Anakin
Jordan Crowther
These are genuine first team quality players plus a few first seaon juniors make up the squad.
I can tell you now that at no point in any of Bradford’s glory seasons did they have any more Academy products in there first team than that.
Like most SL clubs the bulk of your players were bought in. Grow up.

The thread is about sl academies. Ie. Wakefield (specifically Wakefield not half a dozen other clubs) academy ( not service area dumb) produced players.

They didn't come from the Bradford Service Area either though, did they!
Next season, just like this, Wakey will have Jowitt, Johnstone, Wood, Batchelor as front line SL players from the academy + several others who are currently in the first team squad, but considered fringe players.
It was one of our products who scored the winner against you for York a few weeks back. Which I enjoyed...

Jake Trueman I think off the top of my head, but I reckon they're are more London born players in SL than Bradford.
Anyhow I think Wigan and Hull FC must be about equal on players that came from the Academy and were born there (if that's how we're judging it).

Well done you’ve managed to equal the number of academy products from a league one side playing in the NRL in your own first team.

Hilarious you are pure comedy gold.
Take a look at your current team - even in division 2 you are totally unable to put out a home grown team which is frankly pathetic for the biggest club in the division. The majority of your squad are mercenaries and JK will tell you that. People on glass houses old love.
Also when did you last win the Academy comp, I know when we did x x x

Ah yes, you can have Bateman.
Langley and Smith are from Wakefield (Normanton).
Please give me a list of Bradford born players who are in SL?
