SCOTLAND RL STATEMENT: THREE PLAYERS RELEASED
Scotland Rugby League have today announced that three players have been released from their 2017 Rugby League World Cup squad for misconduct.
The players concerned are captain Danny Brough, Sam Brooks and Johnny Walker.
The trio remained in Christchurch this morning while the rest of the team flew to Cairns to prepare for their match against Samoa next weekend.
Chairman of Scotland Rugby League, Keith Hogg said: “We expect everyone involved in Scotland Rugby League to adhere to the highest standards of behaviour.
“We fully support the code of conduct that is in place for everyone who is involved in the 2017 World Cup.
“We all understand our responsibilities to the game and we must respect the sport and everyone who is involved in it at all times.
“Unfortunately, these three players have not adhered to those standards and those values and will be leaving early from a tournament that it is a privilege for us to be involved in''

Sad but not a surprise. You could see the Brough dummy spit was on from yesterdays performance booting the ball out on the full and not finding touch with a penalty etc... and waving his arms about like an air traffic controller.

What a fitting way for him to bow out of international rugby by being sent home early for being too p155ed to board a flight when he was the captain of the side

What do people expect when to 95% of the teams involved it’s just an end of season tour and a way to blow off steam with the lads. Players getting sent home, fans fighting, blow out score lines, players representing a country because their dogs vet went on holiday there and half empty stadiums. It’s a joke of a World Cup

The Walker brothers are competing to see who's the biggest there mother must be so proud

It's no excuse and really shouldn't make a difference. You've seen it in other sports such as cricket or rugby union where players misbehave on tour in world cups, serious tour matches etc.

Some players are just idiots who clearly cannot be trusted.
