Hello all,

It appears that despite the obvious talent within the squad at Leigh Centurions, they often struggle to keep their discipline under control.

Looking at the RFL website, they are approaching thirty separate occasions of ill-discipline, with no doubt lots more due after yet another mass brawl at the LSV vs Halifax. Their MD (or similar role, can't remember) has also been fined for foul language and intimidating opposition fans.

Do we think that the current system of individual disciplinary cases against players is working? What will it take to stop Leigh from tarnishing our beautiful game's reputation? A fine? Points deduction? It is definitely getting out of hand.

No mate, I just began a discussion between fans on a rugby league forum by presenting an argument backed up with evidence and inviting debate. Apologies if such actions were too mature for you to understand.

Suspect DBs Twitter account has been hacked. Never used foul language or text speak in previous exchanges.

As for original topic, how many of these incidents on rfl site that has been referred to resulted in an actual charge?

I'm not defending Leigh, but it takes two to brawl and no one appears bothered to comment on 'Fax.

The words "brawl" and "Leigh" appear with alarming regularity in weekly match reports. When they struggle, they revert to niggling and match disruption. They've got it down to a fine art. But it's working. Teams can't handle it and fair play to them - they're top of the league still.

When we were struggling yesterday, we made a change in the halves and took control of the game. We were actually in the lead when it kicked off yesterday. Both teams were idiotic yesterday and it wasn't one bringing the others down to their level

The twitter exchanges are strange. I can't believe that people in the public eye get drawn into arguments on there. If its been hacked then thats something his media manager should have been all over, so i doubt thats happened.

On the brawling, i suspect Leigh's current (nearly 2 yrs now) form is really winding up opposition players, not started by leigh themselves

Sorry Rich, but you're talking cack. We had 2 players sent off at different times while we were in possession. That's reacting to dirty or niggling play, not starting it.

I'm not condoning Leigh's retaliation yesterday but the holier than thou attitude of some Fax fans is so ridiculous it's funny!

Apologies, my comment was meant to be tongue in cheek, I haven't seen what happened obviously and presumed the OP was a fax fan hence my comment.

My point is to read previous match reports - Sheffield, Featherstone, Batley, Bradford etc..etc...

It's every week. Common denominator is Leigh.

I'm not saying they shouldn't play dirty - Widnes got it off to a tee in the eighties and it served them well.

the only defence for a drunken moron on the internet is "my account was hacked". Like you say, if it wasn't him someone at Leigh would have noticed, and they would have shut the account down immediately.

But it's not an official club account, it's a personal account, so no club staff would have access to close it down.

Think the accounts been closed now lol, after he got some stick about saying it was his son

It just proves the unprofessional nature of some people involved in RL unfortunately.

so Tracy in the media/marketing office is sat at home on Sunday night looking at her twitter, and sees her boss apparently sending abusive tweets from his personal accounts, I would imagine her first reaction would be to ring him and ask what was going on. At which point he would close it down.

Like I have posted on the Halifax forum, I was 10 yards from the initial offence whereby Leigh had possession with Haggerty 2 yards from the Halifax line, Calahane the Fax prop was giving Haggerty's face a real going over with his elbows and Haggerty lashed out.

The brawl started there, like I have said earlier, it was needless with so little time left on the clock but it came from Fax's frustration at going behind.

Leigh are not angels but it seems like every team tries have a fight because they cannot compete at rugby.

Richard Marshall reckons Calahane just rolled away.

Someone stated the common denominator was Leigh, but I put forward another common denominator as you stated Binosh are the tactics teams are resorting to to try and beat Leigh.

May have been out on Sunday night, and not glued to twitter. May have tried contacting the owner and not been able to. Point I was making was no staff at the club would have been able to shut down the tweets or the account directly.

Apart from live on radio at the Bradford match.

The RFL are at least 2 thousand quid better off now though so it's not all bad.
