Bounce of the ball, and a few funny decisions from the referees. Hull KR armed with the enigmatic Terence Campese and Albert Kelly, came back from the dead to defeat a Carney-less Catalans Dragons.

Battered!

It was a game of two halves. Catalans clearly won the first half, but took their feet off the accelerator. Hull KR clearly won the second half.

The Catalans will probably have to take a look at their defensive structures.

As I predicted Hull KR are a top 8 team.

Still, Catalans remain 4th on the table.

The only funny thing was the referees performance in the 1st half. His interpretation of the rules of the game was open to many questions. In the 2nd half the game was ref'd fairly and rovers went wild. Campese, Kelly & Sio along with a good performance from Lunt was great to see.

They scored in the first minute after a penalty and good kick to touch, we drew level and then they had a good 10 minutes when Allgood was binned. After that they were not in it as the score clearly shows. The most pleasing thing for me is we look stronger in the last 20 mins, unlike previous years when we tended to fold. Great defence at last.

Campese and Kelly have got to be the best halfback pairing in the league at present.

Not much competition though is there.

When Todd Carney gets back from his broken ribs there will be!

Well, I hope he can tackle, because the French are shipping 28 points a game thus far and that's not top 8 defending.

Everyone knows that Catalans are capable of much better than the performance they dished out yesterday at Craven Park. Shipping 50 points is intolerable with the roster of playing talent that the club has.
And I say that with full respect for the talent that Hull KR has, especially Terence Campese, Albert Kelly and Kenneth Sio, -- talent which I have been talking up since before the season started.

I am starting to think that a new coach, or at least a Director of Rugby who supervises the coach, is in order for Catalans.

The first three are "not up to NRL standard", Dureau is competent but no more, Lima a penalty machine. Taia and Anderson are both decent, though.

To be fair Jean you did talk up the 3 rovers players you mentioned and all have been fantastic especially campese Catalans looked very strong for the first 30 making plenty of yards up the middle on there sets but as soon as we started throwing the ball wide they had nothing

They play us this week though. 90 points in 3 games will sound a lot better.

Should have little difficulty defending against our blunt attack.

Hull KR are now in the top 8 and I stand by my preseason prediction that they will end the regular season in the top 8 so long as Campese and Kelly do not suffer serious injuries.

Catalans are now in the top 4 (just) and I predict that they will end the season in the top 4 so long as Carney gets back soon and Dureau, Ta'ia and Escare do not suffer serious injuries.

The first three have played in the NRL (Oldfield was a replacement winger for Manly) and Tonga has played for Queensland and Australia.

I know that and have seen plenty of all three playing there. But they're not wanted there now, are they?
